Donna Marie (Bullock) Perry 1933-2009

DIXON – Donna Perry, 76, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Funeral service is at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Burial will be at Dixon Cemetery.

MRS. DONNA MARIE (BULLOCK) PERRY

Donna Marie (Bullock) Perry, of Dixon, was born June 14, 1933, near Dixon in Maries County, a daughter of William Everett and Ethel Genevieve (Doyle) Bullock, and departed this life at 12:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 18, 2009, in Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.
Mrs. Perry had attained the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 4 days.

Mrs. Perry was united in marriage on December 26, 1964, at New Bloomfield, to William Jennings Perry, and to this union, one son was born. She was preceded in death by her father on January 12, 1966; her mother on November 21, 1980; one brother, Bennett Bullock, on August 22, 2008; and one sister, Jessie Slone, on November 3, 2001.

She was a member of the Hancock Christian Church where she attended as long as her health permitted and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Prior to her hearing loss, she enjoyed country music and square dancing. She had danced several times in Nashville and along with Lee Mace and others in her family, had the honor of square dancing on the first televised WSM Grand Old Opry Show where Farron Young serenaded her while she sat on a bale of hay. Mrs. Perry started her employment with Brown Shoe Company, Dixon, in 1951 and retired on April 14, 1989. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Perry include: Her husband, Bill Perry, of the home near Dixon; one son and daughter-in-law, William James (Jim) and Mara Perry, St. Louis; one granddaughter, Olivia Perry, St. Louis; one brother, Raymond Bullock, Dixon; one sister, Charlsie Creamer, Dixon; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Perry at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 22, 2009, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with Rev. Gary Day, pastor of the Hancock Christian Church, officiating. Dwight and Rhonda Slone and Bradley Slone sang “Go Rest High on That Mountain” and “Amazing Grace” for the funeral service.

Interment was in the DixonCemetery under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Pallbearers for Mrs. Perry were Tommy Anderson, Duayn Slone, Mike Slone, Dwight Slone, Bradley Slone, and Kevin Struemph.

In Lieu flowers, memorial contributions are suggested the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research with envelopes available at the Dixon Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
