Gerald William Brady, of Dixon, was born in St. Louis, on June 20, 1946, a son of William Joseph, Sr. and Rosemarie Martha (Blank) Brady who preceded him in death. Mr. Brady and departed this life on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at his residence near Dixon. He had attained the age of 63 years, 2 months and 2 days.
Mr. Brady was United States Navy veteran and had worked for United Airlines for thirty plus years, retiring in 2002. He was a volunteer fireman for the Dixon Rural Fire Department and had previously served as Chaplain for the fire department. He enjoyed farming and working in his yard.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Brady include: two daughters, Wendy Brady, Thornton, Colorado and Jennifer Brady-Hill, Grand Junction, Colorado; three brothers, Fred Brady and William Joseph Brady, both of Dixon and James Brady, Aurora, Colorado; one sister, Patricia Broadway, Paris, Texas; two grandchildren, Emerson Taylor Hill and Evyn William Hill, both of Grand Junction, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted for Mr. Brady at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2009, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
Visitation will be held form 5 – 6 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2009, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Burial will be Fort Leonard Wood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Dixon Rural Fire Department in Memory of Gerald.
