William David Swingle 1943-2009

William David Swingle, 66, of Richland,Missouri passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009 due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on South Highway 7 near Richland. Services are pending and will be announced by Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Richland.

Mr. Swingle is survived by his children: Shirley (Jerry) Swingle of Richland, MO, Betty Wood, Wanda Swingle and Guy Swingle all of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one sister: Nancy of Indiana; two brothers: Brian Swingle of Ohio and Dean Swingle of Brem, Indiana; four grandchildren: Ashia and Michael Swingle, Lamar Shannon and Colton Cross.

RICHLAND— A two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon was fatal for a Richland motorcyclist.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, William D. Swingle, 66, of Richland, was driving north on Highway 7, about four miles south of Richland, at 1:20 p.m. when he crossed the centerline and entered into the path of a vehicle being driven by Damon T. Cohen, 18, of Richland.
The two vehicles collided head-on and came to a rest in the southbound lane of Highway 7.
Swingle was pronounced dead by Pulaski County Assistant Corner Gary Carmack at 1:48 p.m.
First responders initially called for a Life Line helicopter, but later cancelled the request.
He was taken to Waynesville Memorial Chapel in Richland by Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Cohen is not reported to have any injuries.
Accident responders closed down Highway 7 for a period of time Wednesday.
The death is the 13th fatality for Troop I this year.
