Valgene Rice 1926-2005

Valgene Rice, 79 of Devils Elbow, a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant, veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam, died at 3:37 A.M. Sunday, July 10, 2005 at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 16 at Fair View Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Arrangements are under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel, Waynesville, Missouri.

Mr. Rice is survived by his wife, Glendolyn of the home; two sons: Lewis Rice of Roanoke, Texas and Lee Rice of Devils Elbow, Missouri; one daughter: Cindy Rice of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one sister: Alice Coleman of Marietta, Ohio; one brother: Harry Rice of Huntsville, Alabama; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
