He was born August 3, 1931, in Bloodland, Mo., the son of Harry
Edwin and Pearl Mae (Gann) Vaughan. He served his country in the U.S.
Navy, and on September 5, 1956, he and Barbara Jean Pitchford were
united in marriage.
In his younger years he was a dairy farmer. Mr. Vaughan retired
from Dayco Industries, and later from the Road Department for the City
of Nixa. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include three children, David Vaughan, Billings, Donna
Swafford and her husband, Wesley, Nixa, and Connie Hyson and her
husband, Charles, Forsyth; 13 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren;
two sisters, Freda Vaughan, Ozark, and Lena Porter,Willard; a brother,
Edwin Vaughan, Springfield; and two sisters-in-law, Neva Vaughan, and
Helen Brush, both of Nixa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, in 1997; his
daughter-in-law, Connie Vaughan; and seven brothers and sisters, Omar,
Orpha, Buck, Maurice, Clyde, Evelyn, and Eva.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, in Adams
Funeral Home, Nixa, with Reverend Joseph Fahl officiating. Burial will
follow in Maple Park Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 6
to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

American Cancer Society, or to the charity of the donor's choice,
