Emmitt Dale Gilbert 1962-2012

Emmitt “Dale” Gilbert, of Dixon, was born on November 11, 1962, at Rolla, a son of Emmitt George and Jessie Lea (Fritchey) Gilbert and departed this life at 8:58 p.m., Sunday, April 8, 2012, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Dale had attained the age of 49 years, 4 months and 27 days.

Dale was preceded in death by his father on July 31, 1992 and his mother on December 29, 2000.

Dale had worked as a maintenance supervisor for Ehrhardt Properties, St. Robert for the past seven years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, slow pitch softball, but above all loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to mourn the passing of Dale include: one son, Tyler Dale Gilbert, Dixon; two daughters, Sarah Lynn Gilbert-Maldonado, Dixon and Katie Lea Gilbert, Rocky Mount; two brothers, George “Paul” Gilbert and Richard “Rick” Burton Gilbert, both of Dixon; one sister, Emmogene “Jeannie” Marie Shattuck, Dixon; three grandchildren, Breison Leavi, Bryndol Emmitt and Chanleigh Del Gilbert; Uncles; Aunts; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Dale were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012, in the First Assembly of God Church, Dixon with Bro. Richard Sinden and Pastor Larry Albertson, First Assembly of God, Dixon officiating. Three favorite selections, “Tattoos On This Town”, “Daddy’s Hands” and “Jealous of The Angels” were played for the service.

Interment was in the Seaton Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Dale were Emmitt Henson, Richard Gilbert, Nathan Gilbert, Ryan Jones, Casey Jones, Eddie Fritchey, Chris Thompson and Jeff Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Dale’s three grandchildren, Breison, Bryndol and Chanleigh.

Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family in memory of Dale, with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Dixon.
