Mary Louise Ward, daughter of the late Adolph H and Irene B.
(Burmeister) Kramer, was born October 18, 1944 in Fairmont City, Martin
County, Minnesota. Mary was a graduate of Trimont High School in
Timont, Minnesota.
On May 23, 1964 in Trimont, Mary was united in marriage to George R.
Ward, Jr. They shared many wonderful years of marriage together and
were blessed with three children: Gail L., G. Robert and Mark D.
Mary became employed with the City of Waynesville as and
administrative clerk after the family moved to the Waynesville area.
She was employed there for many years and everyone who came to City Hall
was greeted by her.
Mary’s pride and joy was her family. She treasured every time that
she could spend with her family and friends, especially the
grandchildren.
Mary passed away at 1:31 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at
Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 64 years, 11
months and 4 days.
Mary will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her three
children: Gail Ward (David Todd) of Austin, Texas, G. Robert Ward III
(Chrystie) of Tempe, Arizona and Mark Ward, Sr. (Amber) of Cuba; several
grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother: Daryl Kramer
(Jean) of Kenyon, Minnesota; several nieces, a nephew; aunts, cousins,
other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 10, 2009
in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert with
Rev. Danny Graves officiating. The song “What A Friend in Jesus” was
played. Mary’s friend and co-worker, Carol Welch recalled her wonderful
memories of Mary. Services were under the direction of Memorial
Chapels and Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary Ward to the
Waynesville City Park Fund and may be left at Memorial Chapels and
Crematory.
