Ruth Alean Edwards, of Crocker, was born on November 22, 1912, at
Crocker, a daughter of J.W. and Pheby (Headrick) Walters, and departed
this life at 7:33 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011, in the Lake
Regional Health System, Osage Beach. Mrs. Edwards had attained the age
of 99 years and 1 month.
Mrs. Edwards was united in marriage on March 7, 1931, at Crocker, to
Raymond L. Edwards and to this union two children were born. She was
preceded in death by her husband on June 12, 1984; her parents; one
grandson, Billy Lee Edwards and her twelve brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Edwards was a faithful member of the Crocker Christian Church and
retired from Civil Service in the laundry department, after 27 years.
She loved to cook and spend time with her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Edwards include: one son, Gene
Edwards, Crocker; one daughter, Barbara Shackelford, Eldon;
grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and many
other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Edwards at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday,
December 27, 2011, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with
Bro. Larry Richardson, Crocker Christian Church, officiating. “Peace In
The Valley” and “Amazing Grace” were played for the service.
Interment was in the Crocker Public Cemetery under the direction of the
Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Edwards were Michael McKenzie, Claude York, Matt
Woods, Brad Dunn, Jim Alley and Chris Fox.
