Willia (Tiny) Duncan, 76, of Evening Shade, Mo., passed away in her
home on April 27, 2012. Tiny was born in Memphis, Tenn., on June 23,
1935.
After spending many years as a military wife traveling the
country, she settled in the Ft. Leonard Wood area when her first
husband, Robert May, retired from the military. She earned two BA
degrees from Drury University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. For many
years she worked for the Social Security Administration before becoming
licensed as a real estate agent and broker. Tiny was the owner of
Lighthouse Realty and sold real estate throughout the Ft. Leonard Wood
area for over 20 years. After the death of her first husband, Robert
May, Tiny married Ted Duncan and enjoyed many happy years together until
his death in 1995.
Tiny was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Diel and Bertha
(Boutwell) Diel; a brother, Bobby Diel; granddaughter, Kimberly Smith;
and a great-grandchild, Jonathan May.
She is survived by her
children, Beth Jones of Dallas, Texas; her sons, Gary May and wife,
Jane, and Bill May and wife, Gail, of Springfield, Mo. Tiny is also
survived by her sister, Billie Gross of Memphis, Tenn.; three
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by
niece, Cheryl Josephson; an “adopted” granddaughter, Kendra James; two
nephews, Randy and Doug James; and family and grand nephew, Travis
James.
Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Friday May 4, 2012, at Evans Funeral
Home. Services are 2 p.m. with Wesley Wallace officiating. Pallbearers
are Jeff Brown, Greg Brown, Donald Atterberry, Doug James, Donnie Duncan
and Richard Gower. Burial will be in Palace Cemetery under the
direction of Evans Funeral Home.
