Ablin, was born March 7, 1950 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and departed this
life the afternoon of May 29, 2002 at the Springfield Skilled Care
Center, at the age of 52 years.
C.C. grew up in Waynesville,
where he attended Waynesville schools and the Church of Christ. For the
last 35 years, C.C. has made his home in Springfield.
C.C. was
dearly loved, and will be sadly missed by his mother: Betty Ablin of
Springfield; one brother: Billy Ablin and his wife, Terry of Kirkwood;
and two sisters: Sharis Myers and her husband, Ray of Hendersonville,
North Carolina and Carla James and her husband, Gary of Lees Summit. He
also leaves his nieces and nephews: Alex Ablin, Ben and Jen Myers and
Nichole and Taylor James. Also surviving is one great nephew, Tomas; and
other relatives and friends.
Preceding C.C. in death were his father, Clarence Eugene Ward and his stepfather, Leo Ablin.
A
memorial service was held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at Waynesville
Memorial Chapel with Don Strong officiating. The family chose some of
C.C.'s favorite songs to be played: "The Old Rugged Cross," "Sweet Hour
of Prayer," "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," "Softly and Tenderly,"
"Standing on the Promises," "Just A Closer Walk With Thee," "I'll
Remember You," "A Friend of Mine," "Unforgettable," and "Fire and Rain."
On behalf of Carla, Mr. Strong read some memories she wanted to share.
Sharis also addressed the congregation to share memories of C.C.
Burial followed in Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
