Chong Im (Kim) Nevins, daughter of the late Kyong Un Kim and Chae
Suk Yang, was born January 9, 1948 in Korea where she grew up and
attended school.
On August 29, 1971, Chong was united in
marriage to the love of her life, Robert John Nevins in Winterhaven,
California. They shared over 40 years of marriage together and three
daughters: Lori, Tammy and Vicki.
Due to Robert being in
the military, Chong and the family moved several times during his
military career, but eventually settled in the St. Robert / Fort Leonard
Wood area.
Chong loved taking care of her family and her
grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved spending time with them
and took every opportunity to be with them. Chong enjoyed traveling
and visiting new places, trout fishing, and cooking. She especially
liked being outdoors; whether it was gardening, seeing the mountains or
the ocean.
Chong was very active in her church, Victory
Fellowship Church of God and was a faithful member. She would help any
chance that she could.
Chong went home to be with her Lord
Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in her home, after a courageous battle with
cancer. She had attained the age of 64 years. She will be sadly missed
but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her.
Chong
leaves to cherish her memory her husband Robert Nevins of the home;
three daughters: Vicki Howe of Waynesville, MO: Tammy Mayer of Ft. Knox,
KY: Lori Nevins of Columbia, MO: one brother Kim Yong Jun of Korea;
five grandchildren: Robert Bell, Maddy Mayer, Mason Mayer, Katherine
Howe and Elizabeth Howe; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Chong was preceded in death by one sister, Kim Chong Ae.
