Kenneth David Shell, son of Raymond Dean and Deborah Ruth (Gipson) Shell, was born July 18, 1986 in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
The
Shell family moved to the Richland, Missouri area when Kenny was a
young boy. He was in his junior year at Laquey High School and loved his
computer classes at Waynesville Technical Academy. When his health
permitted, he worked at the McDonalds in Waynesville. Besides computers,
Kenny loved his play station and taking care of his iguana, Oscar.
After
battling leukemia for a year, Kenny departed this life the evening of
February 3, 2005 at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in
Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 18 years, 6 months and 16 days.
He
will be very sadly missed by his parents: Raymond and Debbie Shell of
Richland, MO; three brothers: Burnice Daniel Shell of Waco, TX, Tommy
Lynn Hernandez of Perryton, TX and Raymond Shell, Jr. of Richland, MO;
one sister: Melinda Kay Shell of the home; his girlfriend: Berta Cowell
of the home; maternal grandfather: Everett Gipson of Perryton, TX;
paternal grandmother: Katharine Shell of Richland, MO; his special
niece: Ciarra Shell and several nephews, aunts, uncles and other
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Daniel Shell, Sr. and his maternal grandmother: Sylvia Gipson.
A
graveside service was held at 12:00 P.M. Monday, February 7, 2005 in
the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Larry Suggs
officiating. The song "I Can Only Imagine" was played while Kenny's
cousin, Stacy Tharp did a dramatic interpretation of the song. Serving
as escorts were Mike Benavides, Kenny Dart, Tommy Lynn Hernandez, Robert
Pendergrass, Cory Rowden, James Shaffner, Raymond Shell, Jr. and Dwayne
Tharp. Services were under the direction of Richland Memorial Chapel.
