Rachael Suzanne (Wood) Seedyk, was born to Jeffrey and Jerri (Woltz)
Wood on May 5, 1984 in Lancaster, Ohio. Rachael and her family moved to
the Waynesville - St. Robert area in 1995. She was a student in the
Waynesville R-VI School District and graduated from Waynesville High
School in 2003.
On March 28, 2003 in Dixon, Missouri, Rachael was
united in marriage to Jonathan Michael Seedyk. They were making plans
to move to Texas where Jonathan would be stationed with the United
States Army.
Rachael was a very loving person. She had many
friends and acquaintances. She was loved by many people for her
wonderful zest for life.
Rachael passed away the morning of
Wednesday, May 19, 2004 as the result of injuries sustained in a motor
vehicle accident at the age of 20 years and 14 days.
Rachael will
be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her husband: PFC Jonathan
Seedyk; her parents: Rev. Jeff and Jerri Wood; one sister: Stephanie
Wood all of Waynesville, MO; father and mother-in-law: Russell and
Charlotte Seedyk of St. Robert, MO; paternal grandparents: Donald and
Dorothy Wood of Avon Park, FL; maternal grandfather: Russell Woltz of
Lancaster, OH; sister-in-law: Dawn Binder of Knob Noster, MO; two
brothers-in-law: Russell Seedyk of Woodbridge, VA and Christopher Seedyk
of St. Robert, MO; six aunts: Annette Wood, a missionary in Bolivia,
Denise Riffle of Kingston, OH, Joyce Kirkwood of Hesperia, CA, June
Kistler of Sugar Grove, OH, Jeannette Lecrone and Judy Woltz, both of
Lancaster, OH; one aunt: Pat McKinney of Lancaster, OH; two uncles:
Roger Wood of Anchorage, AK, and Michael Woltz of Lancaster, OH; several
cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Faye Woltz.
Funeral
services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 22, 2004 in the Waynesville
Memorial Chapel with Pastor William Kempen officiating. Rachaels
husband, Jon Seedyk and friend, Chris Denny, both gave beautiful
eulogies. The songs "His Eye Is on the Sparrow", "My Heart Will Go On",
"Amazing Grace", "It's Hard to Say Goodbye", "Someday","Here without
You" and "Living on A Prayer" were played. Serving as escorts were
Brandon Balk, Krys Denney, Adam Reichert, Chris Seedyk, Earl Wieprecht
and Devon Williams.
Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
