Death of Mrs. W.L. Lane
Mrs. W.L. Lane, who formerly lived in this county, died at
the home of her husband at Arlington, Okla., November 30, 1902, from the
effects of a serious burn she received the 22 of October while making soap by a
fire in the yard. Mrs. Lane was born in Hamilton county, Illinois, May 14,
1847, and was 52 years, 7 months and 16 days old.
She was married to W.L. Lane in 1871 and was the mother of
nine children, eight of whom are still living. She was a member of the Baptist
church and a devout christian and had many friends in Pulaski county, as well
as in Oklahoma where she had lived for several years. Her last days were made
as pleasant as possible by kind friends and neighbors and her death sadly
mourned by all.
