Lettie Jane (Murry) Oxendine 1908-2005

Lettie Jane Oxendine, daughter of the late Marion Cletus and Merttie M. (Mauck) Murry, was born September 17, 1908 in Cherryville, Missouri where she grew up and attended the Eaton School.

As a young girl, Lettie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized. She and her family attended the Pyatt Hollow Baptist Church in Cherryville.

On February 21, 1934, Lettie was united in marriage to Raymond B. Oxendine in Waynesville, Missouri. They shared over 68 years of marriage together and were blessed with one daughter, Fern. Raymond preceded her in death on August 14, 2002.

Lettie was a very hard working woman. She provided house cleaning services for several people within the Waynesville, St. Robert and Buckhorn communities. She enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was mushroom hunting, fishing or working in her flower gardens. Her favorite time was spent in her vegetable gardens growing different kinds of vegetables, but she especially enjoyed growing tomatoes. She spent a lot of time in the kitchen either canning her vegetables that she had grown or just cooking for her family. Lettie's family was the most important thing to her and she treasured the times that they spent together.

Lettie went home to be with her Lord the morning of Tuesday, January 4, 2005 in the St. John's Regional Medical Center of Springfield, Missouri at the age of 96 years, 3 months and 18 days.

Lettie leaves to cherish her memory one daughter: Fern Crawford of Waynesville, MO; two brothers: Ode Murry and Lawrence Murry both of Waynesville, MO; three sisters: Nettie Halbert and Mabel Bell, both of Cherryville, MO and Rosie Parker of Dixon, MO; three grandchildren: Derrell Ray "Sam" Crawford and Susan (Covert), James Kenneth Crawford, all of Waynesville and Douglas Eugene Crawford and his wife, Christy of Springfield, MO; several other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lettie was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one half-sister.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 6, 2005 in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Harvey Dye officiating. The songs "Beyond the Sunset", "Go Rest High On That Mountain" and "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms" was played. Serving as escorts were Mike Bollinger, Ronald Covert, Douglas Crawford, Mike Fennell, Scott Fennell, Lillie Fincher and Pat Fincher.

Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Otis Leroy Murry 1920-2006

Otis Leroy Murry, son of the late Cletus and Mertie (Mock) Murry, was born February 19, 1920 in Cherryville, Missouri where he grew up and attended Henry Eaton School.

On November 4, 1949, Otis was united in marriage to Pearl Agnus "Bunchie" Baldridge in Mtn. Home, Arkansas. They shared over 51 years of marriage together. Bunchie preceded him in death on July 16, 2001.

During his working years, Otis was employed on Fort Leonard Wood working with Bruce Debo fixing frames on houses before he began working on his own doing the carpentry work while remodeling homes. In his spare time, Otis enjoyed working with hands and spending time with his family and friends.

Otis passed away the evening of Saturday, March 4, 2006 in his home at the age of 86 years and 13 days.

Otis will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by one brother: Lawrence Murry of Waynesville; three sisters: Mable Bell and Nettie Halbert of Cherryville, MO and Rose Fern Parker of Dixon, MO; several other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Otis was preceded in death by two brothers: Everett and Lewis Murry and four sisters: May, Larie, Pearl and Dolly.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. Serving as escorts were Sam Crawford, Christopher Etheridge, David Etheridge, Garry Fincher, Pat Fincher and Arron Kraton. Serving as honorary escort was Bill Inman. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Waynesville/St. Robert.

Patty Ann Murry 1950-2011

Patty Ann Murry went home to be with her Lord April 2, 2011, at Life Care Center of Waynesville, Missouri, at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 24 days.

Daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Ann (Adair) Murry, Patty was born November 9, 1950, in Waynesville, Missouri.

Patty grew up and attended school in Waynesville. She worked for a few years at the Laundry Room in St. Robert. Most of Patty’s life was devoted to the love and care of her family: her parents, her daughters and her beloved pets, her dog, Moe and cat, C.T. Patty was a great cook and did beautiful handwork, both sewing and piecing quilts. She was an avid reader, loved listening to gospel, bluegrass and country music.

Patty was a woman of great faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She recently re-dedicated her life to her Lord and was baptized at Idumea Baptist Church in Laquey by her very dear friend, Pastor Danny Graves.

Patty had a very sweet, kind, loving, generous spirit. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves her companion, Robert McKee; two daughters: Dawn Delaney and Debbie Ann Beetem (Graham) all of Waynesville; one sister: Bessie Whittaker of Hannibal; an aunt: Rosie Parker of Dixon; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. The songs “Peace in the Valley”, “Go Rest High on that Mountain” and “The Great Speckled Bird” were played. Serving as escorts were Merrion Mallow, Bill Gerber, Bobby Joe Gerber, Carl Turner, Robert New, Norman Stoll, Marvin Gann, Earl Ellegood, Tony Helmers, Delmar Gene Whittaker, Archie Whittaker and Jessie Schockely. Serving as honorary escorts were Debbie Adair, Rita Helmers, Pam Stafford, Karla Ellegood, Patty Goodrich and Beth Gilbert.

Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
