Noel L. George 1905-1984

Noel L. George, son of Gholson and Nellie Rutter George, was born at Brumley, Missouri October 25, 1905 and departed this life April 1, 1984 in Springfield, Missouri.

He was united in marriage with Ruby Warren on February 6, 1926, and to this union was born one daughter, Elaine, who passed away in November 1947.

Noel was born and raised around the Lake of the Ozarks area. His employment with Shell Pipeline took him and his family to many different areas of the United States. He retired from Shell in 1962 after 25 years of service.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge #409 in Springfield for several years.

Noel is survived by his wife, ruby; two brothers Noble George of Montreal, Missouri and Clay George of Walla Walla, Washington; two sisters: Mabel Davis of Springfield and Genevieve McCracken of Columbus, Kansas; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Elaine Perch, two brothers, Ralph and Preston and one sister, Grace Nickels.

He was a wonderful husband, father and friend.

Services were held Wednesday, April 4, 1984, 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Chapel with C.K. Smith officiating.

Music was provided by Rusty Shadel, soloist and Marcia Shadel, organist.

Escorts were: Ronnie George, Bradford Flemmer, Phillip Morgan, Jerry George, Merle webb, and Sam Willcut.

Honorary escorts were: Earl Eoff, Own Chalfant, Kenneth Smith, and James Tanner.

Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Noble William George 1910-1984

Noble William George, 74, of Montreal, Missouri, died Friday, June 23, 1984.

He was born on February 19, 1910 in Camden County, Missouri to Gohlson Monroe and Nellie Rutter George.

On March 11, 1937, he was married to Beulah Taylor in Richland, Missouri. To this union were born two children. They are a daughter Charlotte of Eldon, Missouri, and a son, Jerry of Montreal, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, son. Daughter-in-law, Jeannette, two granddaughters Michelle and Elaine, one brother Clay of Walla Walla, Washington; and two sisters Mable Davis of Springfield, Missouri; and Geneviene McCracken of Columbus, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.

He has been a farmer in Camden County most of his life.

Noble was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church for many years where he served as deacon, Sunday School Director, and teacher.

He took an active part in community and county organizations where he assumed various leadership positions. Among these were his involvement in establishing the Missouri University Extension Council in Camden County working as 4-H leader, and serving as ASCS County Committeeman for a number of years.

Services for Nobel William George were held at Colonial Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 1984. Officiating at the services were Shirley Williams and Rev. Henry Addison. Music was provided by Morris McDaniel. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery. Escorts were: Michael Demarast, Leo Long, Buel Meredith, Louis Boze, Francis Taylor, and John Mitschele. Honorary Escorts were: Archie Allee, Clyde Eaken, Oscar George, Floyd Frederick, Ronnie George, and Jim Harrold. Under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel of Richland, Missouri.
