James T. Sullivan (1857-1906)

DIXON

Jas. Sullivan of Newburg, formerly a resident of Dixon and for the past several years Engineer on the Dixon hill, died last week and was buried at Rolla. The funeral was at the Catholic Church, several from here attended.

Ella Sullivan April 22, 1887

This entry is from the J.J. Watts collection. John J. Watts hailed from Warren, Maine and moved to the northern Ozarks of Missouri sometime after the Civil War. He was a circuit-riding Baptist Minister and his territory covered Phelps, Pulaski, and Texas Counties and parts of Maries and Dent Counties. He established a cemetery, Watt’s Lawn, which is located 1 mile West of J Highway, near the Pulaski County-Phelps County line. This collection covers 1882-1912.

John H.L. Sullivan, born in Pulaski Co., MO, Dec 23d 1849 and died on Spring Creek near Relfe, Phelps Co., MO, Aug 24th 1884, aged 35 ys. and 8 ms. A funeral sermon was preached at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church from Psalms 130 X 6 verse by J.J. Watts, Dec 7th 1884. Widow, and 6 children survive him, and 3 bro's and 6 sisters, and his mother.
