Dewey Smith, Jr., 87 of St. Robert, MO, a World War II, Vietnam War and Korean Conflict veteran, passed away at 1:05 P.M. Sunday, August 30, 2009 in the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics of Columbia, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in the Westside Baptist Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory. Visitation will be held after 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in the Westside Baptist Church. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Mary Smith of the home; four children: Peggy Jean Davis of Leesburg, FL, Shirley Ann Wedgeworth of Shreveport, LA, Dewey Smith III of Tallahassee, FL and Sidney Dewon Smith of St. Robert, MO; 14 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dewey Smith, Jr. to the Masonic Home of Missouri and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory.
