Muriel Eva Collier, age 81, of Springfield Mo., passed away April 10,
2008, in St. John's Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She
was born February 19, 1927, to Berkley and Lula Jane Barnhart in Dixon,
Mo. She worked for 20 years in the hotel industry as a desk clerk. She
always had funny stories to share with her customers and her family
about all the interesting people she met through the years. The light of
her life was clowning around and laughing with her granddaughter
Brittany.
Muriel is survived by her daughter Sonja Krempges and
her husband, Stan of Springfield; one granddaughter, Brittany Krempges
of Springfield; two grandsons, T.J. Collier of LaGrange, Mo., and Brent
Krempges of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter-in-law Donna Collier of LaGrange,
Mo.; three great-granddaughters, Ashley, Hannah and Hunter Collier all
of LaGrange, Mo.; and one brother, Ray Barnhart of Pekin, Ill.; and a
host of nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by
her parents; husband James Russell Collier; son Loren Lester Collier;
sisters, Pearl McClelland and Verna Blackwell; and brothers, Clay
Barnhart, Everett Barnhart and Bus Barnhart.
A visitation for
family and friends will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13,
2008, in the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Graveside services will
follow at Fox Crossing Cemetery in Dixon, Mo. All arrangements are
under the direction of the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla.
