Elizabeth E. (McMahan) Robinson 1908-1986

Elizabeth E. (McMahan) Robinson, daughter of Charles M. and Sarah Rebecca (York) McMahan, was born August 17, 1908 in Pulaski County near Richland, Missouri.  She departed this life August 3, 1986, 9:02 p.m. at Lester E. Cox Hospital North, Springfield, Missouri attaining the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 17 days.

Elizabeth accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 13, was baptized and united with the Beulah Baptist Church.  In 1949 she moved her membership to the Boulevard Baptist Church in Springfield and was an active member of the Lydia Sunday School Class and the Lottie Moon Group of Baptist Women.

Elizabeth was married to Joseph W. Robinson who preceded her in death February 10, 1938.  In 1942 she became a resident of Springfield, Missouri where she worked as a secretary until her retirement.

Survivors include three step-daughters, Lucille Vaught, Richland; Yveta Pearson, Stewart, Mississippi; and Helen Salsman, Richland; a step-son, Joe C. Robinson, Cedar Hill, Missouri; two first cousins, Alta Wolfe and Vivian Johnson, St. James; several second cousins including Geneva Smith, Springfield; Wayne Setsor, Richland and Bonnie Setsor Morrow, Foristell, Missouri; 25 step-grandchildren; 34 step-great grandchildren, one step-great grandson preceded her in death; and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Boulevard Baptist Church, Springfield with Rev. Richard Eakins officiating.

Music was provided by Martha Garrison, organist.  Roy Salsman, step-son-in-law, sang “Because He Lives” and Wayne Garrison, Music Director, Boulevard, sang “Blessed Assurance” and “Victory In Jesus”.

Escorts were: Everett Reeder, Warren Scranton, Gus Robards, Gerald Simmons, Gene Gorden, and Paul Baker, fellow church members.

Roanna Elizabeth (McMahan) Ashworth 1867-1904

Roanna Elizabeth (McMahan) widow of Joseph Ashworth, Sen., died near Duke, MO, June 11th 1904 at 5 p.m., aged 36 ys, 11 ms, & 6 ds. Living 3 children and 3 children dead before her. Was of a family of 13 children, 9 of that No. still survive. A funeral discourse was delivered at the Watts Lawn Cemetery, June 12th 1904 at 3 p.m., from Rev. 21X25 & hymns 34 "Further on" & 75 "I will sing you a song" & 101 "My Heavenly home is bright & fair" were used, and at 4 o'clock the interment was completed.

Jesse Lawrence McMahan 1894-1895

Jesse Lawrence, son of Frona McMahan, was born in Piney Township, Pulaski County, MO, Aug. 13, 1894, died same place on Oct. 20, 1895 at 10 p.m., aged 1 yr, 2 ms, and 7ds. Singing and prayer at the Watts Lawn Cemetery by J. J. Watts on Oct 21, 1895 at 5 p.m. Monday.

James McMahan 1820-1893

James McMahan, was born in Lawrence Co. Illinois, May 6th 1820, died in Piney Township, Pulaski Co., MO, Oct. 10th 1893, aged 73 ys. 5 ms. and 4 ds. Singing, prayer, and remarks were made at the Watts Lawn Cemetery, by J.J. Watts assisted by Rev. A. Hendri x, Oct. 11th 1893. A funeral sermon was at the Hopewell Baptist Church from Psalms 84 X 48 by Rev. A Hendrix, Aug. 19th 1894 at 11 a.m., Sun. assisted by J.J. Watts.

Josie Belle McMahan 1887-1889
