Aldren W. Tucker 1910-1981

Aldren W. Tucker, son of Charles and Nora Parsons Tucker, was born July 29, 1910 in Richland, Missouri and departed this life January 7, 1981 at his home in Richland.

He was united in marriage to Goldie Dickerson April 29, 1969.

Aldren has lived in Richland most of his life, and worked in the fur, wool, and mohair business.  He served his country for four years in the United States Army, during World War II.  He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.  Aldren professed his faith in Christ about a year before his death.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 10, 1981 at 1:30 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Clark officiating.  Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of the Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Goldie of the home; one brother, Reed Tucker of Richland; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lou Smith of Mountain Grove, Missouri and Mrs. Ernie Blackwell of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Walter and one infant brother.

Effie Arrena (Gan) Tucker 1910-2006

Effie Arrena Tucker, daughter of the late James and Arrena Louisa (Crossland) Gan, was born May 25, 1910 in Bloodland, Missouri where she grew up and attended school.

As a young girl, Effie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized. Throughout her life she had a strong faith in God.

Effie was married to William C. York and on October 2, 1940, Effie was united in marriage to Bryan Tucker in Lebanon, Missouri. Effie was blessed with eight children: Juanita, Roy, Melzona, Deloris, Vada, Wanda, Lana and Judith.

Effie was a hard worker. She worked for a short time on Fort Leonard Wood in the laundry facility, but mostly she took care of her family as a housewife and mother.

In her spare time, Effie loved to sew and was very talented in sewing her own dresses and making quilts. She enjoyed dancing, singing and watching her soap operas.

Effie passed away at 8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 23, 2006 in the Life Care Center of Waynesville, Missouri at the age 95 years, 9 months and 18 days.

Effie will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by one son: Roy C. York and his wife Lee of Columbia, KY; six daughters: Melzona Wilson and her husband Junior, Deloris Logan, Vada Williams, and Judith Ogle all of Waynesville, MO, Wanda Adkins and her husband Bert of Camdenton, MO, and Lana Burgener and her husband Jerry of Olney, IL; 26 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Effie was preceded in death by six sisters, one brother, husband Bryan and one daughter, Juanita Irvin.

A special thanks to our sister Deloris Logan for her unselfish devotion in taking care of our Mother during the last years of her life. We humbly thank you. Our Mom will be greatly missed by us all.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 27, 2006 in the Memorial Chapel of Waynesville with Rev. Gary Humphrey and Rev. Danny Graves officiating. The songs "Mama's Teaching Angels", "Amazing Grace" and "Serenaded By Angels" were played. Serving as escorts were Wayne Adkins, Jerry Burgener, Jr., Leonard Irvin, Derek Ogle, Timothy Ogle, Davis Wilson, Allan Woodby and Calving York. Serving as honorary escorts were Raymond Adkins, Roy Lee Adkins, Mike Wilson, Larry Woodby, Richard Woodby and Terry York.

Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Waynesville/St. Robert.

Mary Lucille (Tucker) Weeks 1911-2004

Mary Lucille Weeks was one of six children born to the union of the late George and Nina (Yadon) Tucker. She was born October 3, 1911 near Richland, Missouri where she grew up and attended school.

On November 24, 1928, Mary was united in marriage with Charles J. Weeks, Jr. Mary and Charlie raised four children, Nina Mae, Mary Jo and Lyle Tucker Weeks and Robert Lee Osborn.

Mary dedicated her life to the love and care of her family. She not only made a wonderful home for her own family, but helped many families in the Richland area welcome new additions to their own families by assisting in the delivery of countless babies. She enjoyed working in her garden and her flower beds.

At a young age, Mary professed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church; where her parents, George and Nina were charter members, and where Mary helped begin the AWANA program.

Mary willingly and longingly went home to be with her Lord the morning of December 13, 2004 at the Richland Care Center, at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 10 days.

She has left a legacy of a giving and selfless spirit for her family and friends to cherish forever. She leaves two daughters: Nina Stone and her hsuband, Ed, and Mary Jo Miller all of Richland; two sons: Lyle T. Weeks and his wife, Loretta of Reedsport, Oregon and Bobby Lee Osborn and his wife, Evelyn of Lampe; one sister: Ruth Schmoll of Joplin and one brother: Bill Dougan of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She also leaves her beloved 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her infant son: Charles Ovid; two brothers: Claude and Bobby Tucker; two sisters: Georgia Strain and Enid Rowland; one grandon: Todd Beeson and her son-in-law: Ralph Miller.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 16, 2004 at Grace Baptist Church of Richland with Pastor Rocky Harris officiating. A poem titled 'Home For Christmas' was read by Pastor Harris. Serving as escorts were Greg Snoderly, Eddie Stone Jr., John Lester, Matthew Beeson, Joseph Beeson and Dale Craiggs. Honorary escorts were Gary Campbell and Dale Campbell.

Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Richland Memorial Chapel.

Robert Lee “Bobby” Tucker 1929-2009

Robert Lee “Bobby” Tucker, of Dixon, was born on July 15, 1929, at Viburnum, a son of Verd M. and Cora Ann (Wells) Tucker, and departed this life at 8:09 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2009, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Mr. Tucker had attained the age of 80 years, 4 months and 9 days.
 
Bobby was united in marriage on August 21, 1970, in Dixon to Linda Jewel Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ramey and four sisters, Verla, Ruby, Freda and Opal. 
 
Bobby was a member of the First Baptist Church, Jerome and was owner and operator of Bobby Tucker’s Mobile Home Service. He loved woodworking, fishing and playing the drums.
 
Those left to mourn the passing of Bobby include: his wife, Linda Tucker, of Dixon; five sons, Robin Stillwell and wife, Dona Jo, of Dixon; Robert M. Tucker, of Monett; Rick Tucker, of Florida; Terry Tucker, of Rolla and Mitch Tucker, of Dixon; two step-sons, Matthew Matlock and wife, Trudy and Michael Matlock and wife, Susie all of Rolla; three daughters, Melody Tucker, of Dixon; Cynthia Wells and husband, Dennis, of Lebanon; Samantha Tucker and lifelong friend, Cynthia Boase, of Houston, Texas; one brother, Leslie Tucker and wife, Lucille, of Republic; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
 
Funeral services were conducted for Bobby at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009, in the First Baptist Church, Jerome with Pastor Paul Craine officiating.  Music was directed by John Dix.
 
Pallbearers for Bobby were Brandon Stillwell, Dustin Stillwell, Zachary Julian, Skyler Julian, Shane Tucker and Troy Tucker.
 
Honorary pallbearers were Whitney Miller, Lucas Townsend, Nikki Stillwell, Gabriel Boase and Robert Boase.
 
All arrangements were under the direction of the Long-Gilbert Funeral Home, Dixon.

Mollie (Thompson) Elkins 1883-1957

Mollie Elkins, daughter of John and Laura Thompson, born on January 14 1883 at Spring Creek, Missouri and departed this life on February 13, at the Waynesville General Hospital after being a patient five days. She had been blessed with good health all her life and only failing the last weeks. She is well known in this community having lived her entire life in this vicinity.

In 1902 she was united in marriage to Jasper Atterberry and to this union two daughters and one son were born. Atterberry preceded her in death, January 31, 1925.

In 1927 she was married to Edward Tucker and he passed away in 1943.

She was converted when a young girl and became a member of the Fire Baptised Holiness Church. Since moving to this community she has been very faithful in her attendance to the Gospel Ridge Church and was devoted to church work.

Those left to mourn her passing are two daughters: _____ Claude Hamilton and Mrs. ___Upchurch of Waynesville; one son: Edgar Atterberry of Richland,Missouri; two brothers: ____ Thompson of Muskegon, Michigan, and James H. Thompson of _____flower, Missouri; one sister Julia Laughlin of Waynesville, four grandchildren: Roy Atterberry, Leland Wagner, Carmellia Snodgrass and ____ Wagner. Also surviving four great grandchildren, three step-daughters: Mrs. ___tha Simovic amd Mrs. ____ Rigsby of Springfield, Missouri, Mrs. Neva Campbell of Newburg, four step-sons: Lloyd Lewie Tucker of Bourbon, Donald and Charley of Springfield, Missouri and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

She was devoted to her family, a kind and loving neighbor and friend, and will be sadly missed by her relatives, ch___, and everyone who knew her.

Funeral services were Friday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Waynesville Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Pre____ of Newburg officiating. Burial was in the Gospel Ridge cemetery under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home of Waynesville.

Ernest Naomi "Ernie" (Tucker)Blackwell, 90 of Kansas City, formerly of Richland, passed away at at 7:25 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Lee's Summit Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 28 at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Richland. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until 1:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Blackwell is survived by her daughter: Sondra Battaglia (Anthony) of Georgetown, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Toni Counti (Phil) of Lee's Summit, Missouri; Sam Battaglia (Tammy) and Joann Sullivan (Tom) all of Georgetown, Kentucky; four great granddaughters, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
