Berchie Mae (Shelton) Rowland 1912-1985

Berchie Mae Rowland was born in Crocker, Missouri on December 9, 1912, the daughter of Thomas and Arlena Thornsberry Shelton and passed away in the Lebanon Hospital on October 11, 1985.  She had attained the age of 72.

She was united in marriage to Claude Rowland on August 29, 1961.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour at an early age and was a faithful member of the Concord Christian Church.  She loved flowers and gardening and was a loving mother and grandmother.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Concord Christian Church on Monday, October 14, 1985 at 2:00 pm.m with the Reverend Lee Todd officiating.

Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of the Long Moss Williams Chapel of Crocker.

Serving as her pallbearers were Lyle Studer, John Stafford, Dave and Dewey Luttrell and Ralph and Clay Duncan.

She is survived by her husband, Claude of the home, two daughters, and son-in-laws, Virginia and Richard Tingle of Crocker and Chariet and Ray York of Waynesville, two grandsons, Charlie Tingle of Crocker and Kenny York of Waynesville, one great grandson, Craig, one brother, Carl Shelton of Iberia, and one sister, Irene Wall of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by one son, Carl, one brother, Orville, and her husband, Charlie Whittle.

John Eugene Bryan, Jr. 1931-2012

John Eugene Bryan, Jr., the only child of John Eugene Bryan, Sr. and Hazel (Thornsberry) Bryan, was born on May 9, 1931, in Crocker, Missouri. He passed away at the Lebanon Mercy Hospital on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the age of 80 years.

After graduating from Crocker High School, he served in the United States Navy for 3 ½ years. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Rolla and Ft Leonard Wood for 30 years.

John became a Christian and was baptized in the Gasconade River by Brother Art Gott on February 14, 1954. He attended Ozark Bible College in Joplin, Missouri. He was a faithful member of the Crocker Christian Church where he was an elder, adult Sunday school class teacher and missionary fund treasurer for many years. His life was dedicated to his family and the church.

He married Anna Louise Ledbetter on March 27, 1959. They were married for 52 years and had three children (Mark, Becky and Susie). His parents, John and Hazel Bryan, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; one son, John Mark Bryan of Crocker, two daughters, Rebecca Ann White and her husband, David White of Republic, Missouri and Susan Jean Bryan of Springfield, Missouri; and three grand-daughters, Amy, Amber and Amanda White. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Ward Alan Ledbetter of Richland, Missouri and Rex Gerber of Watertown, South Dakota; his aunt, Virginia Hackett of Nashville, Georgia; and many good friends.

Funeral services 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Crocker Christian Church, Brother Larry Richardson officiating. Visitation on the previous day, Sunday, March 4 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., also at the church. Internment in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes. Elders of the Crocker Christian Church serving as pallbearers: Junior Adamson, Joe Brown, Roy Peterson, Bill Voiles, Jim Wells, and Kris York.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Crocker Christian Church Missionary Fund, P.O. Box 98, Crocker, Missouri 65452.

Dwight Roam 1932-2006

Dwight Roam 74, of Camdenton, formally of Richland, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital-Lebanon.

He was born June 12, 1932 in Richland to Frank William and Golda Marie Thornsberry Roam who preceded him in death.

On Dec. 24, 1958, he married Winona Hickman, who also preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Don Roam, and a grandson, Rick Schupe.

He was the co-owner of Roam Hardware Store in Richland and a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Camdenton.

He is survived by a step son, Jerry Schupe and his wife, Sherry, of Charleston, Ark.; a grandson, Craig Schupe, of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Alice Roam, of Richland; two nephews, Frank Roam and his wife, Carol, of Lebanon, and Kim Roam and his wife, Debbie, of Grain Valley; one niece, Sherry Struckhoff and her husband, Ken, of Richland; several great nieces and nephews; special friends Brian Miller and his wife, Beth, and their four children and other relatives and friends.

Services for Dwight Roam will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Richland with Dr. Mike Hawkins officiating.

Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Thieme-Shadel Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel in Richland.

Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday to time of service.

Memorials may be made to the Richland First Baptist Church Scholarship Fund.

Richard Lee Phillips 1940-1983

Richard Lee Phillips, son of Robert and Margie Thornsberry Phillips was born September 8, 1940 at Crocker, MO., and died November 11, 1983 at the Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital at Osage Beach, at the age of 43 years, 2 months, and 3 days.

In December, 1964 he was united in marriage to Joan Badsteiber at Omaha, Nebraska, to this union two children were born.

Dick was the former owner of Wis-Illa-Mo Resort at Osage Beach, and for the last eight years has been a real estate broker in the lake area. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joan of the home at Linn Creek, one son Steve and one daughter Susie, both of the home, his mother Margie Phillips of Crocker, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father and one sister.

Funeral services were held November 13, 1983 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Starmann officiating. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery at Crocker.

Pallbearers were Ron Larkin, Shirrel Duncan, John Farrell, Wayne Thomas, John Curran, and Merl Heibel. Honorary Pallbearers were Bob Gattermeir, Bill R. Raynor III, Mark Hohenshell, Bob Malcoln, Wally Trump, Jim Newman, Jim Henderson, Bob Yows, and Don Strickland.

Services were under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.

Mabel Katherine (Thornsberry) Williams 1905-1984

Mabel Katherine Williams was born September 1, 1905 the daughter of Levi and Effie Bartlett Thornsberry and passed away in the Tri-County Nursing Home in Richland on Tuesday, August 21, 1984. She had attained the age of 78 years.

She was united in marriage to Dewey Williams on October 2, 1921 and to this union one son and one daughter was born.

Mabel is survived by one son: Harold Williams of Nashville, Tennessee, one daughter: Virginia Skaggs of Crocker; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; three brothers: Lloyd Thornsberry of Richland; Earl Thornsberry of Lebanon; and John Thornsberry of Denver, Colorado; one sister: Mary Rollins of Richland and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and one sister.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crocker and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved her flowers and was always ready to give a helping hand to others. She was a good Christian mother, grandmother and friend to everyone and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church of Crocker on Friday, August 24, 1984 at 10:30 a.m. with Ed Hamilton officiating.

Burial was in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Long Moss Williams Chapel of Crocker.

Soloist was Dwight Roam, organist was Beth Skaggs.

Pallbearers were: Bill, James and Jeffery Skaggs, Tim Hardesty, Robert Payton, and Terry Gardener.

Lois Claudia (Thornsberry) Pummill 1918-1984

Lois Claudia Pummill, of Crocker, Missouri, was born April 12, 1918 at Brumley, Missouri; the daughter of Claude and Laura Ellen (Smith) Thornsberry and departed this life on Monday, January 30, 1984 at the St. Joseph Hospital at Lirkwood, Missouri. She had attained the age of 65 years, 10 months and 18 days.

She was united in marriage to George Pummill who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Crocker Christian Church.

Lois is survived by 1 son, Tommie Pummill, of Arnold, Missouri; 1 daughter; Laura Murray, of Brentwood, Missouri; 3 grandchildren: Lisa Graham, Tommie Jr., both of Arnold, Missouri; Steven Murray of Brentwood, Missouri; 2 sisters: Dorlis Mackney, of Crocker, Missouri; Margie Phillips, of Crocker, Missouri; 1 brother Norman Thornsberry, of Crocker, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, February 1, 1984 at the Long Moss Williams Chapel in Crocker, Missouri at 2 p.m. with Merwyn McMillan officiating.

Burial was in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Long Moss Williams Funeral Home of Crocker, Missouri.

Pallbearers were: Doug Pummill, Charles Pummill, Gary Thornsberry, Lou Hayes, Curt Graham, and John Bryant.
