Lenford Francis Fritts 1923-1986

Lenford Francis Fritts, son of Ernest B. and Nettie Pruitt Fritts, was born in Pulaski County on August 6, 1923, and departed this life May 7, 1986 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Missouri at the age of sixty two years, nine months and one day.

On September 2, 1948 he was inited in marriage with Gladys Mackney in Camdenton, Missouri.

As a young man, Lenford professed his faith in Jesus Christ and has been a member of the Richland United Methodist Church for a number of years.  He loved his church and took a very active part in its functions, serving as trustee on the official board.

Funeral services were held at Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 1986 with Minister Rev. John Appling officiating.

Burial was at the Oaklawn Cemetery.

Escorts were Bob Williams, John Smith, Lloyd Bohannon, Roy Joe Perkins, Jay Powers, and Danny Zeigenbein.

Those surviving include his wife Gladys; one brother Willard Fritts of Osage Beach, Missouri; one sister Bernice Roberts of Richland; other relatives and many friends.

Lenford is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Leona Fritts.

Rector Noel Pemberton 1902-1981

Rector Noel Pemberton, son of William Frank and Martha Malinda Steen Pemberton was born October 21, 1902 in Iberia, Missouri and departed this life January 26, 1981 at his home near Richland.

On September 24, 1924 he was united in marriage to Lola Jewell Andrews, and to this union was born three sons and one daughter all surviving.

Mr. Pemberton was born and raised in Miller County, and was a farmer all of his life.

He became a member of the Church of Christ in Richland in July of 1963.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 1981 at the Colonial Funeral Chapel with Evangelist Larry Robertson officiating.  Burial was in the Mt. Union Cemetery under the direction of the Colonial Funeral Chapel of Richland.

Pallbearers were: Ron Pemberton, Joey Pemberton, Billy Williams, Randall Pemberton, Joe Gan and Joe Wright.

He leaves to mourn his passing three sons: Duane, Clay, and Frank all of Richland; one daughter: LaVelle Gan, of Laquey; three brothers: Clarence Pemberton, Kansas City, Missouri; Curtis Pemberton, Lee’s Summitt, Missouri and John Pemberton, Iberia, Missouri; three sisters: Edith Graham, Iberia, Missouri; Mae Mace, Camdenton, Missouri and Vesta Harmon, New Mexico; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Raymond, Warren, Leslie and Jessie; two sisters: Lou Burke and Violet Sannings; two grandsons: Jackie and Jimmy Pemberton.

Patricia Lynn Monell 1980-1981

Patricia Lynn Monell was born on June 27, 1980 at Waynesville, Missouri and departed this life on January 27,1981 at Crocker, Missouri.  She had attained the age of seven months.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 30, 1981 at the Long Moss Williams Chapel in Crocker at 11 A.M. with Phillip Sallee officiating.  Burial was in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Long Moss Williams Funeral Home.

She is survived by her parents: Maurice and Jeana George, Crocker, Missouri; 1 sister, Charolett, of the home, her grandparents:  Wayne and Frieda Presley, Iberia, Missouri, and Mr. & Mrs. Burless George, Dixon, Missouri.

Susie Mabel (Johnson) Williams 1897-1981

Susie Mabel Williams, daughter of Wesley and Betty Brickey Johnson was born February 16, 1897 in Camden County and departed this life January 18, 1981 at her home in Richland, Missouri. In September of 1939 she was united in marriage to Jack Williams. She has lived in Richland most of her life. Funeral services were held January 20, 1981 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dale Hufft officiating. Burial was in the Johnson Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapels. Survivors include two brothers, Lee Johnson, of Belle, Missouri; Ransy Johnson of Sacramento, California; and one sister, Mrs. Norma Hancock of Richland, Missouri. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Myrtle and Lottie.

Frank Junior Miner 1908-1981

Frank Junior Miner was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 11, 1908 the son of Frank and Daisy Shinkles Miner and passed away in the St. Johns Hospital in Springfield on Thursday morning, January 15, 1981.  He had attained the age of 72 years.

He was united to Delphia Stokes on August 21, 1955.

He is a member of the Church of Christ in Dixon and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held in the Gilbert Chapel on Saturday, January 17, 1981 with Charlie Pitts officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Gilbert Funeral Home of Dixon.

Serving as pallbearers were James Cardin, Wilford Alexander, Don Crews, Jim Brown, Dale Waak and Roger Smith.

Mr. Miner is survived by his wife Delphia of the home; 2 sons Frank and Ralph Miner of Kansas City, Kansas; 5 daughters, Dorothy Miller, Becky Russell, Norma Aubin, and Doris Horine all of Kansas City, Kansas and Sue Ham of Dixon; 1 sister Mary Jane Pollock of Dixon with grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Ora May (Kissinger) Olander 1897-1981

Ora M. Olander, daughter of Frank and Laura Roam Kissinger, was born October 15, 1897 in Swedeborg, Missouri and departed this life January 19, 1981 in the Autumn Manor Rest Home, No. 2, in Yates Center, Kansas.

Ora was married to Ernest Olander on November 3, 1912.  She was a dedicated wife for forty-three years, and a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, who will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for Ora M. Olander were held at the Colonial Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 1981 with the Rev. Floyd Barlow officiating.  Burial was in St. Johns Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapels.

Pallbearers were: Clifford York, Hager Roam, Luther Ledbetter, Leonard Miller, Cleve Roam and Berlin Kissinger.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Anna Jane Smith of Kansas City, Kansas; one sister, Anna Johnson of Springfield, Missouri; her son-in-law and one grandson.

Ottie Maude (Coble) Bittick 1891-1981

Ottie M. Bittick, daughter of William B. and Sarah Jane Holloway Coble, was born October 22, 1891 at Trenton, Missouri and departed this life January 15, 1981 at the age of 89 years, two months and 23 days.

On November 16, 1953 she was united in marriage to Walter V. Bittick.  To this union was born two children.

Granny as she was lovingly called, was the last of a pioneer family in Douglas County.  She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a Charter member of the Prior Church, the church her parents helped build in that community, continuing to serve her Master as a faithful worker in all church work, teaching Sunday School Classes for many years.  She served her fellow man by caring for the sick.  She was loved by all who knew her.

Funeral services for Ottie Maude Bittick were Saturday, January 17,1981 at 1:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Oakley Herring officiating.  Burial was in the Clifty Hall Cemetery, Mountain Grove, Missouri under the direction of the Colonial Funeral Chapels.

Pallbearers were:  Travis Jeter, Frank Kays, Melvin Hendrix, Chester Woody, Leslie Sanders, and Dee Carroll.  Honorary Pallbearers were: Don Sloan, Cecil Ferguson, Cecil Branson, Charles Rogers, Bill Sutherland and Richard Wood.

Surviving are one daughter, Lena L. Watson, three grandchildren, Myrna Burdine, John Paul Richardson, Nancy Brooks; three great grandchildren, Sarah Jane Richardson, Lena Maye and Betty Lee Brooks, one sister-in-law, Nell Bittick, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.

Those preceding her in death were her husband, an infant son, her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.

Bertha Belle (Hance) Warnol 1896-1981

Bertha Belle Warnol was born at Arlington, near Jerome, the daughter of Barry and Dora Agnes Allison Hance on February 5, 1896 and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Center in Rolla on Saturday morning, January 17, 1981.  She had attained the age of 84 years.

She was united in marriage to Charles Warnol in the Waynesville Court House by Rev. S.D. Scrivner on June 13, 1914.  They have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.  Unto this union 6 children were born.

She has been a member of the Pisgah Church in Dixon since April, 1914, joined Garnet Chapter No. 283, Order of the Eastern Star on March 10, 1947 and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Gilbert Chapel on Monday January 19, 1981 at 2:00 p.m. with Pryor Ray Prewett officiating.  Burial was in the Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of the Gilbert Funeral Home of Dixon.

Serving as pallbearers were Ray and Gene Wagoner, Everett Sharp, Theron, Donald Ray and Carl Warnol.

Mrs. Warnol is survived by her husband Charles of the home; 3 daughters, Grace Collier of Dixon, Minnie Patton of Rolla and Gladys Hargis of Devil’s Elbow; 1 son Charles Jr. of Hurley, Mississippi; 1 brother Eugene Hance of Orlando, Florida; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by 1 son James, 1 daughter Lucy, 2 grandsons, Jim and Clay Jr., 6 brothers and 1 sister.

James Earl Null 1912-1994

James Earl Null, 81, of Vandalia, MO died Thursday evening at the Tri-County Nursing Center, Vandalia.

Mr. Null was born in Dixon, MO on July 13, 1912 to Benjamin Curtis and Neoma (Howser) Null.  On November 20, 1937 in Vienna, MO, he was wed to Eula Marthell Cusick, who survives in Vandalia.  Other survivors include five sons: Curt Null of Knoxville, IA, Virgil Null of Davenport, IA, Jim Null of Farber, MO, and Vernon and Joe Null both of Vandalia; five daughters: Ruby Dean Chafen of Kansas City, KS, Neoma Beal of Rush Hill, MO, Violet Wells of Knoxville, IA, Darlene Witt of St. Charles, MO, and Daffney Hood of Columbia, MO; 96 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters: Jewell Cross, Hazel Allen and Pauline Kaffiele.

Mr. Null was a longtime resident of the Vandalia area, where he engaged in farming and was also employed for many years as a custodian for the Van-Far School District.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 18, 1994 at 1:30 p.m. at the Holt Funeral Home, Vandalia, MO.  Graveside services were held Monday at the Seaton Cemetery, Dixon, MO.

*James Earl Null was transported to his final resting place at Seaton Cemetery by a matched mule team and wagon.

Effie Page Wayman 1904-1981

Effie Page Wayman, daughter of Francis and Elzada (Lane) Page was born April 27, 1904 near Big Piney, Missouri and passed away June 9, 1981 at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville.  She had attained the age of 77 years, 1 month, and 13 days.

She attended Bayou School in Big Piney.  She was converted at the age of 16 and united with the Hopewell Baptist Church at Big Piney in 1920.  She never moved her membership and remained a faithful christian.

She was united in marriage to William H. Wayman on August 23, 1926, and unto this union 4 children were born: Loyd, Marjorie, Gerald, and Larry.

She is survived by her husband, William, of the home in Waynesville, Missouri; her 4 children: Loyd Wayman, Orangevale, California, Marjorie (Wayman) Williamson, Kingston, Washington, Gerald and Larry Wayman, both of San Andreas, California, 11 living grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Lena Gray and Emma Firestine, both of Waynesville, Missouri; 1 brother, Bob Page of Merced, California, and numerous nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

She was a loving wife and mother and will be sadly missed by all.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 13, 1981 at the Long-Moss-Williams Chapel in Waynesville, Missouri at 10 a.m. with Reavil Hankins officiating.

Burial will be in the Lakewood Memorial Cemetery at Empire, California under the direction of the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home of Ceres, California.
