Mr. Null was born in Dixon, MO on July 13, 1912 to Benjamin Curtis and Neoma (Howser) Null. On November 20, 1937 in Vienna, MO, he was wed to Eula Marthell Cusick, who survives in Vandalia. Other survivors include five sons: Curt Null of Knoxville, IA, Virgil Null of Davenport, IA, Jim Null of Farber, MO, and Vernon and Joe Null both of Vandalia; five daughters: Ruby Dean Chafen of Kansas City, KS, Neoma Beal of Rush Hill, MO, Violet Wells of Knoxville, IA, Darlene Witt of St. Charles, MO, and Daffney Hood of Columbia, MO; 96 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters: Jewell Cross, Hazel Allen and Pauline Kaffiele.
Mr. Null was a longtime resident of the Vandalia area, where he engaged in farming and was also employed for many years as a custodian for the Van-Far School District.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 18, 1994 at 1:30 p.m. at the Holt Funeral Home, Vandalia, MO. Graveside services were held Monday at the Seaton Cemetery, Dixon, MO.
*James Earl Null was transported to his final resting place at Seaton Cemetery by a matched mule team and wagon.
