Bessie Manes Gibson 1900-1986

Bessie Manes Gibson, daughter of Charles and Minnie Barnaby Manes, was born November 28, 1900, and departed this life on October 25, 1986 at Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of eighty five years, ten months and twenty eight days.

On December 31, 1919 she was united in marriage with John Gibson, and to this union one daughter was born.

Bessie professed her faith in Christ as a young girl and became a member of the Sunnyside Christian Church at Wet Glaize, Missouri, until it disbanded and her membership was transferred to the First Christian Church in Richland.

She enjoyed gardening, and was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She took great pride in her family and her home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 28,1986 at 1:30 p.m. with Kirk Mallette officiating under the direction of the Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Resting place was in the Camp Ground Cemetery.

Escorts for Mrs. Gibson were: Lynn Anderson, Ivan Perkins, Steve Sorensen, Roy Joe Perkins, Scott Sorensen and Eric Sinner.

Those surviving include her husband John; her daughter, Kathleen Snead of Richland; two brothers, Howard Manes of Springfield, and Jerry Manes of Caldwell, Idaho; two sisters Lola Davis and Betty Lucas, both of Richland; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Norman Manes and one sister, Lillian Manes.
