She was united in marriage to Joseph Hampton Cain on October 11, 1913 and unto this union 2 sons were born. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1963.
Florence is survived by her 2 sons, Harold and his wife Opal and Donald and his wife Ethel of Granite City, Illinois, 1 brother Joseph Lipscomb of Kansas City, 5 grandchildren, Richard Cain of Highland, Illinois, Karen Campbell of Houston, Texas, Herbert and Mark Cain of Granite City, Illinois and Donna Baker of St. Louis, 5 great-grandchildren, Ricky Cain of Highland, Illinois, Christina and Steve Campbell of Houston, Texas, Robin and Erin Cain of Granite City, Illinois with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, Arthur, Mert, Homer, and Frank and 1 sister Myra Lipscomb.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dixon, garnet Chapter #283 Order of the Eastern Star. Florence lived in Granite City from 1922 until 1947 and then moved to Dixon.
Funeral services were held in the Long Chapel on April 9, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Philip Inman officiating. Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery. Organist was Kathy Brandt and serving as her pallbearers were Carl Durtschi, Elmer McKinnon, Paul Beydler, Naith Campbell, Murl Baker, and Walter Dickens.
