He was united in marriage to Nellie Mae (Massey) June 3, 1935 and to this union four children were born.
George lived most of his life in the State of Missouri, except for 15 years in the State of California where he worked as a journeyman welder. George and his family have been residents of Pulaski County since April, 1959.
He enjoyed fishing and worked as a guide on the Lake of the Ozarks for several years.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Nellie of Richland, two sons, Richard and Don of Laquey, Missouri, two daughters, Velda Clubb of Coolidge, Arizona, and Viola Carson of Winfield, Missouri, four brothers: Clyde of the State of Kansas; Leonard of Camdenton, Missouri; Merle and Jack of the State of Washington; one sister, Mary Lou Thurmerdo of the State of Texas, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Services were held Sunday, October 26, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Tallant officiating.
Burial was in the Palace Cemetery under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Music was furnished by Dorothy Moore.
Those serving as escorts were: George Hill, Gerald McCoy, Roger McCoy, Rolla McCoy, Carl McGee, and Larry Thornhill.
