Carol was a dedicated Christian woman and had a great belief in God. She believed that God would take care of her family and prayed for them all the time. She attended Grace Covenant Christian Center of Waynesville.
Carol was a hardworking woman and took great pride in providing for her family. She worked with AAFES at Fort Leonard Wood for 19 years and retired in April 2001. She worked in the garden shop, power zone, central checkout and photo lab and thoroughly enjoyed her job.
In her spare time, Carol enjoyed putting puzzles together, playing games and watching movies with her grandchildren, reading books, horses and watching birds outside her window. She loved her dogs Prince, Arnold, Mazie, Shotzie, Eddie, and Precious and spoiled them just like they were her children. Carol also enjoyed shopping; whether it was going out to the stores or the shopping network. She was involved in a program called Tops Weight Program and went every chance she could.
Carol’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family. Every holiday was special, but she especially enjoyed July 4th. She was always spoiling her grandchildren and would buy little things for them. Carol loved her children. She would sacrifice everything for them. For example, if there was a shortage of food on the table she would do without so her kids could eat. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Carol went home to be with her Lord at 7:30 AM, Friday, January 15, 2010 in the Life Care Center of Waynesville at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 9 days. Carol will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Carol leaves to cherish her memory three children: Edward Smith (Lisa) of Lebanon, MO, Joe Smith (Alexandra) of St. Robert, MO and Kathy Ayres (Dan) of Wichita, KS; one uncle: Dale Robson of San Francisco, CA; daughter-in-law: Chyree Smith; one aunt: Buelah Robson of Pocatello, ID; eight grandchildren: Elizabeth Smith, Amanda Ayres, Jonathan Ayres, Jesse Smith, Holly Smith, Michael, Andrew and Jordan Principato; several other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband: Edwin Leroy; son: David Wayne Smith; grandson: David Fred Smith; and stepfather: Fred.
A memorial service was held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 22, 2010 in the Grace Covenant Christian Center of Waynesville with Pastor Judi Tillett officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carol Ann Smith and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory.
