Jewel B. (Booker) Robertson 1947-2011

Jewel B. Robertson was born to parents Frank and Irene Booker on July 8, 1947. She grew up in the Devil’s Elbow, Missouri area where her parents ran the Koffee Kup Restaurant on Old Route 66. Jewel graduated from Waynesville High School in 1965 and then attended Rio Hondo College in Colorado. Most folks will remember her as Jewel Belle Booker.

Jewel was married to Robert James Roane in 1968 and of that marriage two daughters (Sherry and Jodi) were born. Jewel was involved in the Real Estate business here in the Pulaski County area for over 29 years; beginning her career with C-21 Prestige Real Estate and eventually opening her own Real Estate Office INCOMING REALTY. Jewel was a member of the Pulaski County Board of Realtors, Missouri Association of Realtors, NRA, American Quarter Horse Association, along with many other organizations. Jewel loved volunteering her time in the community to help those in need including our military members.

Jewel enjoyed scuba diving, underwater photography, traveling, equestrianism, reading mystery books, writing poems and most of all her grandchildren.

Jewel was preceded in death by her father Frank Booker and nephew Shane Booker. She is survived by her mother Irene Booker of St. Robert, MO; one brother Jerry Booker and wife Linda of Waynesville, MO; her daughter Sherry Hayes and husband David of Rolla, MO; her daughter Jodi Thomas and husband Jessie of Newburg, MO; along with four grandchildren, Paige Kling and her husband Spencer of Valdosta, GA, Chase Hayes, Spencer Foltz and Slade Foltz, all of Rolla, MO. Jewel’s blended family also included Brenda Ash and Denise Fincher of Sapulpa, OK.

Memorial services were held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Jewel’s friend, Twyla Cordry facilitated the service and recalled her wonderful memories of Jewel. Jewel’s grandchildren: Paige Kling, Chase Hayes and Spencer Foltz, recalled the wonderful times they spent with their grandmother. Donna Weidner, Linda Wyatt, Judy Miller Redmond, and Ina Hernandez also recalled the great times they shared with Jewel.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jewel Robertson to the USO for the packages for troops and their families program and may be left at the funeral home.
