Son of Vernon Parker and Christina Kay Morrison, Cory was born on April 16, 1992 in Rolla, Missouri. He attended school in the Waynesville R-VI School District and was a 2010 graduate of Waynesville High School. Cory was very active and was a member of the wrestling team.
Cory worked at the Alternations Shop on Fort Leonard Wood during high school and was still currently employed there. After graduation, Cory became a full time student at Ozarks Technical College. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, listening to music, playing X-Box, bowling, and spending time with his family and friends. He liked any kind of sport, but he loved watching ESPN, playing basketball, watching NASCAR (especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr.) and working out at the gym. Cory was also very proud of his American Indian heritage.
On January 12, 2003, Cory was baptized at the Harmony Baptist Church of Waynesville.
Cory will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother: Christina Morrison of Waynesville; his father: Vernon Parker of Richland; grandmother: Barbara Jean Morrison of Waynesville; aunts and uncles: Donna Kinsey of Evansville, Indiana, Ronnie and Bobby Morrison both of Laquey, Angie Walters of Richland and Jennifer Jones of Crocker; great uncle: Albert Flores of Stoutland; other relatives and many friends.
Cory was preceded in death by his grandfather: Bernie “Buck” Morrison and his uncle: Danny Morrison.
Funeral services were held at Noon, Saturday, February 12, at Memorial Chapels and Crematory, Waynesville/St. Robert, with Pastors Mike Curtis and Danny Graves officiating. Anda Zeiger played and sang, “Victory in Jesus,” “The Arms of an Angel” and “I’ll Fly Away.” Those serving as escorts were Donna and Mark Kinsey, De’Ante Booker, Zack and J.P. Perry, Colton Carmack, Donovan Holton, Tyler Schindler, Matt Sisson, Dustin Ramirez, Rich Learmont, Steve Dumas, Quinton Spence, Richard Zarcone, Robert Gonzales and Anthony Vega.
The graveside service included Cory’s great uncle, Albert Flores singing the Native American farewell lullaby. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Cory Parker and may be left at the funeral home.
