Charles Maxwell “Max” Bloomfield 1905-1981

Charles Maxwell “Max” Bloomfield, of Dixon, was born on March 27, 1905, at Joplin, in Jasper County, Missouri, the son of William Wallace and Edna Elberta Lees Bloomfield, and departed this life on Saturday morning, January 10, 1981, at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital, Waynesville, following a sudden illness.  Mr. Bloomfield had attained the age of 75 years, seven months and 14 days.

He was united in marriage on April 23, 1965 in Benton County, Arkansas to the former Miss Estella L. Burk, who preceded her husband in death on August 5, 1975.

He had been employed as a butcher in the Kansas City, Missouri area for thirty years prior to his retirement in 1966.

Funeral services were conducted at 9 a.m. on Monday morning, January 12, 1982 at the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with the Rev. Clarence Smith, Dixon United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment was in the Fox Crossing Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon.

Pallbearers for Mr. Bloomfield were John Stark, George Terry, Mel Burdick, Ralph Lofton, Hank Veatch, and Al Ramsur.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Bloomfield include: One niece and nephew-in-law, Betty and Robert Burhart, Dixon; one great-nephew, Richard Burhart, Dixon; and other relatives and friends.
