On March 8, 1922 he was united in marriage to Gladys Holdren, and to this union was born one daughter, Mary Ann who survives.
Hooker accepted Christ as his personal saviour and was baptized as a young man, and has since been a member of Glover Church of Christ. His goal in life was “just to be a Christian.”
Hooker enlisted in the Navy in World War I and following his discharge September 30, 1921 he has been engaged in the farming profession.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers, Milton and J.C. and one sister, Laura Harrold.
Survivors include his loving wife, Gladys of the home, one daughter, Mary Ann Roberts, DeSoto, Missouri; one brother, Stanley Traw, Lebanon, Missouri; one sister, Martha George, Richland, Missouri; three grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 9, 1984, 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Chapel with W.J. Stanley officiating.
Music was provided by the Church of Christ Singers.
Escorts were: Claude Hickey, Ronnie Powell, Jackie Richardson, Tommy Tabor, Doug Burton, and Jess Ballenger.
Burial was in Glover Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.
