Sophia “Sonny” M. Eagle, of Crocker, was born on
October 3, 1941, at Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of Lawrence J. and
Georgia (Morhart) Goodrich, and departed this life at 9:51 p.m.,
Wednesday, January 4, 2012, in the Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.
Mrs. Eagle had attained the age of 70 years, 3 months and 1 day.
Mrs. Eagle was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Roseville, Michigan and earned her nursing degree at the St. Joseph Hospital, Pontiac, Michigan. She worked as a licensed practical nurse in numerous hospitals and then for the Richland Care Center for over 19 years. She enjoyed gardening, rock collecting, making jewelry and crafts, collecting antiques and going to garage sales and flea markets.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Eagle include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Shawn and Cindy Eagle, Sweet Springs and Shane and Diane Eagle, Crocker; one sister, Roberta Wuori, Free Soil, Michigan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Dianne Goodrich, Laplata, Maryland; Dale and Susie Goodrich, Free Soil, Michigan; and Gerald and Lynn Goodrich, St. Paul, Manitoba, Canada; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Lauren, Leah and Sierra; and her long-time companion, Andrew York.
A grave side service will be held at a later date in the North Victory Cemetery, Ludington, Michigan.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
