He was united in marriage with Amy Cordry on November 13, 1966.
He served in the United States Air Force from February 6, 1946 until January 5, 1949.
For the past several months he has been employed with Harris Construction in Waynesville, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 1986 at the Colonial Funeral Chapel with Pryor Ray Prewett, Minister officiating. Burial was in the Deerlick Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Earl Condry, Harold Flores, Barney Campbell, Ned Schmitz, J.P. Smith and Rene Gautier.
Those surviving include one son, Steve Smith of New Mexico; one daughter, Ella Parten of Richland; three stepsons, Eddie Flores of Bland, Missouri, Albert Flores of Rancho, California, and Kyle Wier of Emmett, Kansas; three step-daughters, Barbara Morrison of Waynesville, Jody Struges of St. Marcus, California, and Georgia Dominquez of Commerce, California; one brother, J.P. Smith of East Freetown, Massachusetts; four sisters, Bea Gautier of Orange, Texas, Inetta Campbell of Zwolle, Louisiana, Nelda Everett of Comanche, Texas; four grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
