He was united in marriage six years ago at Lebanon to the former Miss Melody Dawn Spradling.
He was a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church near Dixon, having been baptized at an early age, and he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He had been employed in dairy farming for most of his working life.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon, January 6, 1986, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with the Rev. Frank Burger, First Baptist Church, Hermitage, and the Rev. C.M. Howell, Wildwood Baptist Church, Joplin, officiating.
Interment was in the Pisgah Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
Active pallbearers were Jimmy Jones, Jimmy Brandt, Jackie Crane, Gary Don Hendrix, Troy Dean Hendrix, and Kenny Efpink.
Those left to mourn his passing include: his wife, Melody Pennebaker, Springfield; one son, Rex Allen Pennebaker, Dixon; one daughter, Jennifer Dawn Pennebaker, Springfield; his parents, Charles and Norma Pennebaker, Dixon; two sisters, Lynn Shelton and Myra Quick, both of Dixon; maternal grandparents, Corbett and Oma Crane, Dixon; uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Frocie Lee Pennebaker.
