Florence professed her faith in Jesus Christ on May 4, 1980 and was a very active member of the New Friendship Baptist Church where she attended regularly. She sang in the church choir and often sang specials with her mother and sister, and also taught a children’s Sunday School class. She displayed her love and devotion to her Lord every day of her life through her many kind deeds and special ways with her family and friends.
She attended Laquey School, where she had just completed her Sophomore year, and enjoyed participating in school plays.
Those surviving include her parents, Darold and Zella Wieners of the home; one brother, Darold Jr., of Waynesville; four sisters: Tammy Hicks and Mary Hendrix both of Waynesville, Jennifer of the home, and Lori Kelly of Key West, Florida; her paternal grandmother, Annie May Wieners of Waynesville, and maternal grandfather, Johnny Crossland of Waynesville; other relatives and a host of friends.
Florence is preceded in death by her Grandmother Crossland and her Grandfather Wieners.
Funeral services were from Colonial Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 1986 with Harvey Dye officiating.
Music was provided by Rusty Shadel, soloist and Valerie Pafford, organist. Burial was in Center Point Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapels.
Escorts were: Eddie Robbins, Roy Perrine, Wayne Johnson, David Dicke, Dale Shetler, and Grant Prewett.
