Sylvia Ann (Ross) Kuhns 1908-1986

Sylvia Ann Kuhns was born in Pulaski County, Missouri on April 19, 1908 the daughter of Joseph and Oda Delancey Ross and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla on April 20, 1986.  She had attained the age of 78 years and 1 day.

She was united in marriage to Adrain Kuhns on April 6, 1931 in Vienna and unto this union 2 sons and 3 daughters were born.

Sylvia is survived by her 2 sons, Stanley of Avon Park, Florida and Dewey of Cedar Hill, Missouri; 3 daughters, Audrey Humphrey of Dixon, Stella Dzieglewicz of Wildwood, Illinois and Jessie Decker of Dixon; 4 sisters, Sue Kuhns and Inez Page of Dixon, Bertha Kelley of Columbia and Cora Enloe of Wichita Falls, Texas, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren with other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband Adrain on Jan. 11, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

She was a member of the High Point Church of God, loved quilting, sewing, and working in her garden.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Long Chapel on Wednesday, April 23, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. James Bailey officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery.  Organist was Kathy Brandt and Soloist was Charlie Beltz.  Serving as her pallbearers were Keith Braun, John Bertuso, Bill Borrowes, Rodger Osborne, Maurice Wolfert, and Edward Humphrey.  Honorary pallbearers were Loren Ross and Russell Jones.

Adrain Jesse Kuhns 1907-1986

Adrain Jesse Kuhns was born in Dixon, Missouri on March 8, 1907, the son of Jesse and Sarah Kelley Kuhns and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla on January 11, 1986.  He had attained the age of 78 years.

He was united in marriage to Sylvia Ross on April 6, 1931 in Vienna and unto this union two sons and three daughters were born.

He was a member of the High Point Church of God.  He worked at Ft. Leonard Wood for 28 years as a warehouse man retiring in 1970.  He enjoyed his gardening and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, January 14, 1986 at 11:00 with Reverend James Bailey officiating.

Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery.

Serving as his pallbearers were Keith Braun, Loren Ross, Maurice Wolfert, Benny Waldron, Edward Humphrey, and Russell Jones.  Honorary pallbearers were Jess Shelden, Mike Shelden, Johnny Wiles and Hansford Thompson.

Adrain is survived by his wife, Sylvia of the home, two sons, Stanley of Avon Park, Florida, and Dewey of Cedar Hill, Missouri; three daughters, Audrey Humphrey of Dixon, Stella Dzieglewicz of Wildwood, Illinois, and Jessie Deckard of Dixon; one sister, Hazel Michaels of Valley Park, Missouri, and one brother, Virgil Kuhns of Dixon, twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren and ten step grandchildren with other relatives and friends.
