George Alonzo Campbell d. 27 April 1962

WAYNESVILLE- Funeral services for George Alonzo Campbell, Waynesville, who died here Friday at the home of a nephew, William Hensley, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Hartville Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Friend officiating. Burial will be in the Steel Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Bergman-Miller-Bledsoe of Hartville.

Survivors include two brothers, R.A., Springfield, and Charles, state of California; and several nieces and nephews.

CROCKER- Funeral services for James Bentin Strain, 85, Crocker, who died Wednesday morning in the Waynesville General Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Swedeborg church with the Rev. Floyd Barlow officiating. Burial will be in the Crocker Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Moss-Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie; four sons, Clarence, St. Louis, Lawrence, Swedeborg, Muriel, Hermiston, Ore., J.B. Jr., Richland; five daughters, Mrs. Violet Skiles, and Mrs. Ethel Atkins, both of Winona, Mrs. Lois Daust, Mrs. Edith Parks and Mrs. Pauline Carpenter, all of St. Louis a brother Ike, Rolla; and two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Van Winkle, and Miss Maggie Strain, both of Winona.

R.C. Roose, 91, of Dixon, a retired flour and feed mill operator, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Waynesville General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Edna.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Gilbert Chapel at Dixon. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery.

WAYNESVILLE- Andrew W. Wicklein, 53, died at his home at 5 a.m. Sunday.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Heiligtag, Pevely, Mo., Mrs. Alvina Wessling, St. Louis, and Mrs. Carolyn Huckie, Barnhart, and several nephews and nieces.

Odd Fellow funeral services will be held at Moss-Williams Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The body will then be taken to Hillsboro, Mo., for services and burial.

Squire Andrew Wells d. 12 September 1962

DEVIL'S ELBOW- Squire Andrew Wells, 78-year-old grocer here, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Pulaski County Hospital, following a long illness.

Surviving are his wife, Ann; three sons, Sterling and Harold, both of Devil's Elbow, and the Rev. Dallas Wells, Waynesville; a daughter, Miss Jewell Wells, Birmingham, Ala., a brother, Tom Wells, Crocker; three sisters, Mrs. Della Stewart and Mrs. Grace Hooker, both of Lebanon, and Mrs. Pearl Wilson, St. Louis; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. J.W. Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery, under direction of Moss-Williams, Waynesville.

Frank L. McGinnis d. 24 November 1962

WAYNESVILLE- Frank L. McGinnis, 70, Waynesville, died early Saturday in the Waynesville General Hospital.

Rosary services will be at 8 p.m. today in the Moss-Williams Funeral Home, and the mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the St. Robert's Bellarmine Catholic Church.

Officiating will be the Rev. Pfifer, and burial will be in the Waynesville Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. McGinnis is survived by his wife, Pearl; a step-son, Edward McGinnis, Waynesville; two sisters, Miss Esther McGinnis, St. Louis, and Mrs. Helen McCarthy, St. Louis.

James Arthur Wilson d. 10 November 1962

WAYNESVILLE- Funeral services for James Arthur Wilson, 3, of St. Robert, were to be at 2 p.m. today in West Side Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Sanders officiating. Burial was in Waynesville Memorial Cemetery under direction of Moss Williams.

The boy strangled Saturday when he fell between a wooden box and a garage while trying to reach some puppies in the box.

Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Wilson; a sister, Tammy Lynn, of the home; maternal grandparents, Lester Quesenberry, Waynesville, and Mrs. Nova Underwood, state of Washington; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson, Waynesville.

WAYNESVILLE- Mrs. Musetta Cusick, 52, died at 11:18 p.m. Monday at the Pulaski County General Hospital. She had been ill for one week.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Waynesville Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Theodore Wolff, and burial will be in Waynesville Memorial Cemetery under direction of Moss-Williams.

Mrs. Cusick is survived by her husband, Simy J.; two sons, Robert L., Arlington Hall, Va., and Thomas E., of the home; and one aunt, Mrs. Minnie Gray, St. Louis.

Eva Pearl Pippin d. 16 August 1962

Death Takes Mrs. Pippin

WAYNESVILLE (Special)- Mrs. Eva Pearl Pippin, 70, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday of a heart attack at her home four miles northwest of Waynesville.

She was the wife of Dru L. Pippin, member of the Missouri Conservation Commission, which he has served more than 13 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Pippin have operated Pippin Place, a family resort lodge near Waynesville since 1925. She had suffered from a virus the past three weeks and a heart condition several years.

Mrs. Pippin was a member of the Waynesville Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She was a former resident of Marshall, where she taught home economics.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Dan, Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Duggins, Jefferson City, whose husband is chief counsel for the state insurance division; a sister, Mrs. Urvane Elmore, Eagleville, Tenn.; two brothers, John Turner Luther and Clayton Luther, both of Fort Worth, Tex., and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Waynesville Methodist Church. The Rev. John Bowlen and the Rev. Theodore Wolff will officiate. Burial will be in Waynesville Memorial Cemetery under direction of Moss-Williams. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.

Camper, 9, Is Drowned

Waynesville Boy Dies in Gasconade

RICHLAND (Special) - A 9-year-old Waynesville boy drowned late yesterday while swimming in the Gasconade River near here.

Jackie Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson, was attending the Pulaski County Baptist Church camp here.

Funeral services for the youth will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the West Side Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Waynesville Memorial Cemetery under direction of Moss-Williams.

A spokesman said the youngsters were swimming about 5:30 p.m. and all were accounted for but that Jackie was discovered missing in another check a few minutes later. His body was recovered from the river a short time later.

In addition to the parents, he is survived by two brothers, Dennie Carl and David Morris, and one sister, Lisa Ann, all of the home; the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mae Anderson, Springfield; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Delong, of Devils Elbow; a great-grandmother, Mrs. Carl Anderson, Waynesville; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Watson.

WAYNESVILLE-- Mrs. Hattie Irene Cantrell, 55, died of a heart attack at her home in Waynesville at 7 p.m. Tuesday. She had been a resident of the community 21 years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Waynesville Methodist Church. The Rev. Theodore Wolff will officiate. Burial will be in Waynesville Memorial Cemetery under direction of Moss-Williams.

Survivors are her husband Hubert, Sr.; a daughter, Shirley of the home; four sons, Hubert, Jr., and Gerald David, both of Tulsa, Ronald D., Tampa, Fla., and Robert L. of Waynesville; six brothers, Roy Bresee and Presley Bresee, both of Springfield, Arthur Bresee, Cortez, Colo., Fred Bresee, Las Vegas, Nev., Jess Bresee, Avoca, Iowa, and Irvin Bresee, Turlock, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Reardon, Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Charlotte Kersey, Guthrie Center, Iowa, and Mrs. Edith Bowles, St. Cloud, Minn.; and five grandchildren.

WAYNESVILLE- Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Parkview Baptist Church for Mrs. Rosa B.
Phillips, 82, who died at her home near here Thursday after a short illness. The Rev. Clarence
Smith will officiate, and burial will be in Dunkard Cemetery.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Goldie McKinnon, Mrs. Carrie Burgess, Mrs. Leva Dye and
Mrs. Nettie Smith, all of Waynesville, and Mrs. Velma Williams, Lansing, Mich.: two sons, Ben
Wade of Waynesville and Jim Wade, Hardin, Ill., three brothers, George Helms of Crocker,
Mose Helms, Pleasant Hill, Ill., and Elijah Helms of Dixon: 42 grandchildren,
40 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Rosa (Farris) Williams (1884-1962)

Rosa Williams, daughter of Geo. Washington and Amanda Jane Farris, was born in Pulaski County in the Fort Wood area, November 24, 1884, and departed this life at Wallace Memorial Hospital in Lebanon August 20, 1962 at the age of 77 years.

She attended school at the Rolling Heath School in the Fort Wood area. About 44 years ago she was united in marriage to Arthur A. Williams and to this union was born one son, Claude, now of Tracy, California.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her two brothers, her parents, and her husband who preceded her in death in October, 1960.

Many years ago Mrs. Williams was converted and united with the Christian Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Claude of Tracey, California, one sister, Mrs. Pearl Kelly of Newburg, Missouri, two grandchildren, and one great=grandchild, and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Sanders officiating. Burial was in Waynesville Memorial Cemetery under direction of Moss-Williams Funeral Home of Waynesville.
