Jean Gerald Corriveau 1931-1986

Jean Gerald Corriveau was born a son of Albert and Mabel (Brousseau) Corriveau, January 21, 1931 in Saco, Maine, and he departed this life at his home, May 8, 1986 after a lengthy illness, having attained the age of 55 years, 3 months, 17 days.

Jean was also known to his friends as “Jerry” or “Red Cap”.  He was a member of the St. Bellarmine Catholic Church in St. Robert, Missouri.

He enlisted in the United States Army December 28, 1950 and retired from the military at Fort Leonard Wood, after serving his country for twenty-one years with honor and devotion.  He served in the Korean Conflict, Germany, and Thailand.  He had worked for Civil Service for 13 ½ years.

“Jerry” loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed his C.B.’s, and also took great pride in working in his yard.  He was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter #49, VFW Post #3176, and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; three daughters, Maryjane Scott of Arizona, Barbara Corriveau of Waynesville, and Michelle Corriveau of the home; three brothers, Paul Corriveau of Quincy, Massachusetts, and by Raymond Corriveau of Abington, Massachusetts; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held Saturday, May 9, 1986 at 11:00 a.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Monsignor Jerome Sommer officiating.  Music was provided by Organist, Dorothy Moore.  Escorts were the “Military”.  Honorary escorts were Floyd Atwell, Lewis C. Bottom, Thomas Cobb, William Jefferson, William Shy, and David C. Wood.

Interment with full military honors was in the Ozark Memorial V.F.W. Cemetery under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Alma Martha (Wieberg) Dette 1919-1986

Alma Martha Dette, of Dixon, was born on February 5, 1919, at Argyle, a daughter of Louis Joseph and Gertrude Eichholz Wieberg, and departed this life at 11:05 p.m., on Monday evening, August 11, 1986 in the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia.  Mrs. Dette had been in failing health for the past eight months and had attained the age of 67 years, 6 months and 6 days.

Mrs. Dette was united in marriage on September 19, 1942, at Olivette, Missouri to Raymond Joseph Dette, and to this union, five children were born.  Mrs. Dette was preceded in death by her father on October 3, 1957; and one brother, Roman Wieberg.

Mrs. Dette was a member of the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Dixon, and was a housewife for all her working life.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Dette include: Her husband, Raymond J. Dette, of the home in Dixon; two sons, Joseph Dette, Rolla, and paul Dette, Dixon; three daughters; Mrs. Mary Jane Jersild, Wilmington, Delaware, Mrs. Catherine Buckley, Danville, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Rita Lang, Des Moines, Iowa; her mother, Mrs. Gertrude Wieberg, Argyle; two brothers, Toby Wieberg and Lee Wieberg, both of Argyle; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Stratman, Vienna, Mrs. Dorothy Massman, Argyle, Mrs. Zita Tappel, Koeltztown, and Mrs. Freda Kampeter, Argyle; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Rosary Service was held for Mrs. Dette at 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday evening, August 13, 1986, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham - Martin Funeral Homes with the Rev. Walter Reisinger leading.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mrs. Dette at 8:00 a.m., on Thursday morning, August 14, 1986 in the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Walter Reisinger officiating.

Interment was in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle, under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham - Martin Funeral Homes.  Pallbearers for Mrs. Dette were Ronald Stratman, Mike Wieberg, Don Tappel, Ralph Kampeter, Mark Wieberg and Kenneth Wieberg.

Maurice Drudge 1920-1986

Maurice Drudge was born in Claypool, Indiana on November 13, 1920 the son of Floyd and Edith Carnes Drudge and passed away in the Pulaski County Hospital in Waynesville on June 12, 1986.  He had attained the age of 65 years.

He was united in marriage to Miloa Ault in 1953.  They moved to Crocker from Warsaw, Indiana in 1969 and lived in Crocker until 1979.  They moved back to Warsaw, Indiana and back to Crocker in 1984.

He is survived by his wife Miloa of the home, 1 daughter and son-in-law, Jane Ann and Philip Grady of Indianapolis, Indiana, 4 sisters, Bonnie Drudge of North Africa, Geraldine Vetor of Warsaw, Indiana, Ruth Alice Cox of Hunting, Indiana and Martha Johnson of Oklahoma City, 1 brother, Raymond Drudge of Wabash, Indiana, 1 grandson and 3 granddaughters with other relatives and friends.

Maurice was in the Army as specialty military policeman, Tunisian campaign.  He had several decorations, service medals and citations which include the bronze star and EAME theater ribbon.  He was honorable discharged from military service in 1944.  He was a member of the Waynesville Chapter of the DAV and enjoyed his horses.  He accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and was baptized in 1940 and will be sadly misses by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Home in Crocker on Sunday, June 15, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David McMullin officiating.  Burial was in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery.  Gladys Schneider was the organist and serving as his pallbearers were Bill Newman, Jesse Peterson, Warren Crews, Bill Walters, and Daniel and Jack Overby.

Hattie Berniece (Peterson) Hamilton 1917-1986

Hattie Berniece Hamilton, daughter of C.H. and Maude Willie Jones Peterson was born on August 24, 1917 in Crocker, Missouri.  She entered into her heavenly and eternal home on Sunday, July 13, 1986 having attained the age of 68 years, 10 months and 19 days.

She was united in marriage to Harold E. Hamilton on September 26, 1938.  To this union three children were born, Douglas Earl, Edward E. and Sharon K..

Berniece was converted at an early age in the Crocker Christian Church.  She later was baptized into the fellowship of First Baptist Church in Crocker.  She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Harold; one son, Edward E. of Dixon; 1 daughter Sharon Kappelman of Jefferson City; 1 brother Willie V. Peterson of Caseyville, Illinois; 3 grandsons, Lance Kappelman, and Douglas and Philip Hamilton.  Two aunts of Kansas City, Kansas.  In addition to a host of friends and loved ones.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 son Douglas.

Funeral services were held in the Baptist Church in Crocker on Tuesday, July 15, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Marc Miller officiating.  Burial was in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery.  Organist was Beth Skaggs and Soloist were Kathy Brandt, Sue Hauck and Ellen Alexander.  Serving as her pallbearers were Ewell Penland, Henry Farley, Bud and Harold Newcomb, Jack Skaggs and Jessie Peterson.

Monte Stephen Doyle 1951-1986

Monte Stephen Doyle was born in Rolla, Missouri on October 15, 1951 the son of James and Violet Copeland Doyle and passed away suddenly on October 2, 1986.  He had attained the age of 34 years.

Monte is survived by daughter Hilary, his parents, James and Violet Doyle, 2 brothers, Bradley and his wife Lisa and Milan, all of Dixon, with other relatives and friends.

He attended the Dixon Schools, worked at Ft. Wood as an electrician while health permitted.  He enjoyed fishing and working with taxidermy, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held in the Long Chapel on Saturday, October 4, 1986 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ed Pierce officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery.  Serving as his pallbearers were Lonnie, Roger, Tracy, and Buddy

Florence (Lipscomb) Cain 1893-1986

Florence Cain was born in Crocker, Missouri on May 27, 1893 the daughter of John F. and Sophronia Murphy Lipscomb and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla on April 6, 1986.  She had attained the age of 92 years.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Hampton Cain on October 11, 1913 and unto this union 2 sons were born.  He preceded her in death on August 3, 1963.

Florence is survived by her 2 sons, Harold and his wife Opal and Donald and his wife Ethel of Granite City, Illinois, 1 brother Joseph Lipscomb of Kansas City, 5 grandchildren, Richard Cain of Highland, Illinois, Karen Campbell of Houston, Texas, Herbert and Mark Cain of Granite City, Illinois and Donna Baker of St. Louis, 5 great-grandchildren, Ricky Cain of Highland, Illinois, Christina and Steve Campbell of Houston, Texas, Robin and Erin Cain of Granite City, Illinois with other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, Arthur, Mert, Homer, and Frank and 1 sister Myra Lipscomb.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dixon, garnet Chapter #283 Order of the Eastern Star.  Florence lived in Granite City from 1922 until 1947 and then moved to Dixon.

Funeral services were held in the Long Chapel on April 9, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Philip Inman officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery.  Organist was Kathy Brandt and serving as her pallbearers were Carl Durtschi, Elmer McKinnon, Paul Beydler, Naith Campbell, Murl Baker, and Walter Dickens.

Freda Mae (Irvin) Shelden 1935-1986

Freda Mae Shelden was born in Dixon on September 9, 1935, the daughter of Thomas and Ellen Berry Irvin and passed away in the Boone County Hospital in Columbia on Monday, December 22, 1986.  She had attained the age of 51 years.

She is survived by her husband Paul, of the home in Fulton, 1 son Rick Johns of Rolla, her mother, Ella Irvin of Fulton, her sister Melba Lick of Dixon, 3 grandchildren, Adam, Travis, and Lindsay Johns with other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father and 2 brothers, Carl and Donnie.

Freda was a member of the First Christian Church in Fulton.  She was a self-employed beauty operator and most recently the manager of radio KFAL in Fulton.

Funeral services were held in the Long Chapel in Dixon on Wednesday, December 24, 1986, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Raymond McCallister from the Christian Church in Fulton officiating.  Organist was Kathy Brandt and soloist was Hazel Schierbaum who sang “Amazing Grace” and “In The Garden”.  Serving as her pallbearers were Bud and Danny Shelden, Bobby Foster, Larry Irvin, Butch Lick, and Doyle Giesler.

Sylvia Ann (Ross) Kuhns 1908-1986

Sylvia Ann Kuhns was born in Pulaski County, Missouri on April 19, 1908 the daughter of Joseph and Oda Delancey Ross and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla on April 20, 1986.  She had attained the age of 78 years and 1 day.

She was united in marriage to Adrain Kuhns on April 6, 1931 in Vienna and unto this union 2 sons and 3 daughters were born.

Sylvia is survived by her 2 sons, Stanley of Avon Park, Florida and Dewey of Cedar Hill, Missouri; 3 daughters, Audrey Humphrey of Dixon, Stella Dzieglewicz of Wildwood, Illinois and Jessie Decker of Dixon; 4 sisters, Sue Kuhns and Inez Page of Dixon, Bertha Kelley of Columbia and Cora Enloe of Wichita Falls, Texas, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren with other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband Adrain on Jan. 11, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

She was a member of the High Point Church of God, loved quilting, sewing, and working in her garden.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Long Chapel on Wednesday, April 23, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. James Bailey officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery.  Organist was Kathy Brandt and Soloist was Charlie Beltz.  Serving as her pallbearers were Keith Braun, John Bertuso, Bill Borrowes, Rodger Osborne, Maurice Wolfert, and Edward Humphrey.  Honorary pallbearers were Loren Ross and Russell Jones.

Betty P. Rohr 1923-1986

Betty P. Rohr was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 19, 1923 the daughter of Charles and Mabel Baldwin Poston and passed away in the Ft. Leonard Wood Hospital on Sunday, May 25, 1986.  She had attainted the age of 63 years.

She was united in marriage to Lester Rohr on February 4, 1950 in St. Louis and unto this union 2 sons and 3 daughters were born.

Betty is survived by her husband Lester of the home, 2 sons, Lester of Springfield, and Robert of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina serving in the U.S. Army; 3 daughters, Janice Rohr and Elaine Rohr of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Patricia Miller of Ft. Madison, Iowa; 1 sister Mary Kuleper of Florida and 2 grandchildren Scott and Stacy Miller with other relatives and friends.

All services under the direction of the Long Gilbert Funeral Home of Dixon.

Della (Bryant) Miller 1901-1986

Della Miller was born on August 9, 1901 near Dixon the daughter of George and Mary Rigsby Bryant and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla on December 5, 1986.  She had attained the age of 85 years.

She is survived by 1 granddaughter Darlene Sosnoff of Maryland Heights, 3 grandsons, Dan Fulton of Hazelwood, Darren Fulton of Sunset Hills and Dana Fulton of Barnhart, her son-in-law, Billy Dean Fulton of Barnhart, 4 great-grandchildren, Kari and David Sosnoff and Tracie and Todd Fulton.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ray Miller in 1964 and her daughter Mary Jean Fulton in March 1970.

Della lived many years in the Frank Switch community and the last 3 years in the Cedar Knoll Nursing Home in St. James.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Home on Sunday, December 7, 1986 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Kevin Martin officiating.  Organist was Kathy Brandt.  Burial was in the Pisgah Cemetery.  Serving as her pallbearers were Dan, Darren, Dana, Billy and Lloyd Fulton and Don Light.

Virginia (Weeks) Martin 1909-1986

Virginia Martin was born in Dixon on June 7, 1909 the daughter of L.R. and Lucy Jane Morrow Weeks and passed away in the Cox Medical Center in Springfield on February 28, 1986.  She had attained the age of 76 years.

She was united in marriage to Charley Martin on August 17, 1940.

Virginia is survived by two sisters, Lavern Weeks and Alpha Weeks of Springfield, 4 step sons, Raymond Martin of Arizona, Russell Martin and Hershel martin of Dixon and Keith Martin of Camdenton, 2 nieces, Jessie Lam and Mary Weeks, and several step-grandchildren with other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers Jesse and Earl Weeks.

She enjoyed her flowers and sewing and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Home in Dixon on Monday, March 3, 1986 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Martin officiating.  Burial was in the Seaton Cemetery.  Organist was Kathy Brandt and serving as her pallbearers were Hershel, Russell, and Keith Martin, Paul Miller, Dorman Baker, and Vic Bauer.

Elizabeth Olive (Starrett) Nespital 1900-1986

Elizabeth Olive Nespital was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 10, 1900, the daughter of Oliver and Agnes Starrett and passed away in her home in Crocker on November 20, 1986.  She had attained the age of 86 years.

She was united in marriage to Will F. Nespital on April3, 1919 in Chicago after his Army service in Washington D.C..  They lived in Chicago until 1947 when they moved to Crocker.  In 1956, they moved to Coronado, California to care for her aged parents, returning to Missouri in 1969.  They lived in Urbana until they returned to Crocker in 1980 to be with old friends of 1956.  To know her was to love her.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Will of the home.  She attended the Presbyterian Church in Crocker and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.  MAY THE ANGELS LEAD YOU TO PARADISE AND ETERNAL PEACE.

Funeral services were held in the Crocker Presbyterian Church on Sunday, November 23, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken Campbell officiating.  Burial was in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Long Funeral Home of Crocker.  Serving as pallbearers were Hubert, Glen, and Eric Peterson, Gary Squires, Charles Worstell, and Lawrence Nespital.

Arthur Monroe Atterberry 1913-1986

Arthur Monroe Atterberry of Waynesville passed away February 11, 1986.  He was born August 3, 1913 in Bloodland, Missouri, and had attained the age of 72 years, 6 months, 8 days.

Since November 1982, he had lived in the Tri-County Nursing Home in Richland, Missouri.

He was the son of William Jackson Atterberry and Mary Eugene (Gan) Atterberry.  On January 19, 1953 he was united in marriage to Nellie Perrine, who preceded him in death March 1981.  He is survived by six brothers: Wes of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; Floyd and Junior of Richland; Dale of Waynesville; Leonard of Buckhorn; and Jesse of Greenfield, Illinois; five sisters: Nancy Burton, Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Goldie Locke, Wayne City, Illinois; Grace Roam and Rosalee Mortensen of Richland; and Betty Hopkins, Buckhorn; and a host of nieces and nephews.

As a boy, Arthur attended Old Friendship Baptist Church.  He loved to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Frances; four sisters: Elizabeth, Ollie Belle, Imogene, and Ina Delaney.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 13, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Southard officiating.  Music was provided by organist, Dorothy Moore, and soloist, Iva Mae Case.  Interment was in the Buckhorn Baptist Church, Waynesville, Missouri under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.  Escorts were the Nephews.

Grace L. “Mamie” (Huff) Achen 1914-1986

Grace L. “Mamie” (Huff) Achen, of Waynesville, Missouri, was born a daughter of Alfred and Lilly (Price) Huff in Turley, Missouri on May 27, 1914, and departed this life Sunday evening, September 28, 1986 at the age of 72 years, four months and one day.

Mamie was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesville, Missouri.

Mamie loved her family very much.  She was always there when her children needed her.  Mamie loved flowers, and all kinds of plants, indoor and outdoor.  Of particular interest were her many lovely African violets.  Mamie also loved to sew.  She will be sadly missed by her loved ones and many friends.

Mamie is survived by five daughters: Bonnie Miles, Hillview, Illinois; Jackie Murray, Wapakoneta, Ohio; Carolyn Brotherton, Joann Schindler, and Vickie Peacock, all of Waynesville, Missouri; four brothers: Bob Huff, Success, Missouri; Tom Huff, Houston, Missouri; Joe Huff, State of Washington; and Bert Huff, State of Texas; two sisters: Eva Raines, Waynesville, Missouri; and Marie Maness, State of Illinois; 13 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, one sister, and four brothers.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 1 at 2:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Othal L. Hodson officiating.

Music was provided by organist Dorothy Moore, and soloist, Charles Folkert.

Paul Goforth 1905-1986

Paul Goforth, son of Jim and Fannie Gardner Goforth, was born in Springfield, Missouri on June 19, 1905, and departed this life September 22, 1986 at Lake Ozark General Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri.

On October 3, 1926 he was united in marriage with Edith Holdren, and to this union was born three children.  He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lois Jean, his wife Edith, who passed away April 30, 1985, his parents, three brothers: George, Frank, and Vincent; two sisters: Della Winifred and Zella Evans, and one grandson, James Allen Goforth.

Paul has been a member of the Glover Chapel Church of Christ since he was a young man.

He has lived in this area most all of his life, and has been in both turkey and Grade A Dairy Farming before retiring in 1977.

He is survived by two sons: Jim Bill Goforth of Richland; Charley Paul Goforth of Linn Creek, Missouri; one brother, Davy Goforth of Richland; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from Colonial Funeral Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 1986 with Rev. Roger Marshall and Pryor Ray Prewett officiating.

Music was provided by DeLores Shadel.

Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapels.

Escorts were: Lloyd Bohannon, Alfred Zeigenbein, Jim Harrold, Don Roam, Russel Gibson, and Lawrence Moore.

Elizabeth E. (McMahan) Robinson 1908-1986

Elizabeth E. (McMahan) Robinson, daughter of Charles M. and Sarah Rebecca (York) McMahan, was born August 17, 1908 in Pulaski County near Richland, Missouri.  She departed this life August 3, 1986, 9:02 p.m. at Lester E. Cox Hospital North, Springfield, Missouri attaining the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 17 days.

Elizabeth accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 13, was baptized and united with the Beulah Baptist Church.  In 1949 she moved her membership to the Boulevard Baptist Church in Springfield and was an active member of the Lydia Sunday School Class and the Lottie Moon Group of Baptist Women.

Elizabeth was married to Joseph W. Robinson who preceded her in death February 10, 1938.  In 1942 she became a resident of Springfield, Missouri where she worked as a secretary until her retirement.

Survivors include three step-daughters, Lucille Vaught, Richland; Yveta Pearson, Stewart, Mississippi; and Helen Salsman, Richland; a step-son, Joe C. Robinson, Cedar Hill, Missouri; two first cousins, Alta Wolfe and Vivian Johnson, St. James; several second cousins including Geneva Smith, Springfield; Wayne Setsor, Richland and Bonnie Setsor Morrow, Foristell, Missouri; 25 step-grandchildren; 34 step-great grandchildren, one step-great grandson preceded her in death; and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Boulevard Baptist Church, Springfield with Rev. Richard Eakins officiating.

Music was provided by Martha Garrison, organist.  Roy Salsman, step-son-in-law, sang “Because He Lives” and Wayne Garrison, Music Director, Boulevard, sang “Blessed Assurance” and “Victory In Jesus”.

Escorts were: Everett Reeder, Warren Scranton, Gus Robards, Gerald Simmons, Gene Gorden, and Paul Baker, fellow church members.

Louis L. “Lou” Rayl 1913-1986

Louis L. “Lou” Rayl was born a son of Virgil C. and Nora Maryetta (Taylor) Rayl on December 1, 1913 in Waynesville, Missouri.  He departed this life at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri, November 3, 1986 in his 72nd year.

“Lou” accepted Christ, was baptized and became a member of the Buckhorn Baptist Church.  He was united in marriage to Marie Lena (Beals) January 2, 1944 in Waynesville, Missouri.  They shared 42 years of marriage.

He was a member of the Waynesville Lodge No. 375, A.F. & A.M. for 31 years.

“Lou” was a farmer all of his life.  He enjoyed and had great pride in working with the land and animals.  “Lou” loved his family, neighbors, and his many friends, and was always ready to lend them a helping hand.

“Lou” will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

“Lou” is survived by his wife, Marie of Buckhorn; three brothers: Drue, of Richland; Roy of Dixon; and Lee of Lebanon, Missouri; and nine nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Margaret Louise Rayl; two brothers Dorsey and Johnny Rayl; and one sister, Cora (Rayl) Roam.

Visitation was held Tuesday, November 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Masonic Services at 7:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Buckhorn Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Sanders and Rev. Gary Guy officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mary Ann Lowry, and soloist, Rev. Larry Atkins.

Escorts were: Clarence Basham, Warren Bays, Don Lowry, Bill Nicks, Frank Phinney, and Louie Smith.

Honorary escorts were: Neil Adams, Clarence Crismon, Alva Foote, Norman Gan, Charles Goodrich, and Elton Powers.

Interment was in the Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Wilma (Cragg) Fisher 1914-1986

Wilma (Cragg) Fisher was born a daughter of Heber A. and Mina A. Cragg in Manhattan, Kansas on September 7, 1914 and departed this life July 23, 1986 at the age of 71 years.

Wilma entered the Navy while living in Junction City, Kansas, on November 10, 1944, and place of entry was in Bronx, New York.  She served in the Navy over two and half years doing various clerical work, and departed the naval service in Bethesda, Maryland on June 15, 1947.  She received the American Campaign Ribbon Victory Medal of World War II.

Wilma met and married John Fisher.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, fishing, quilting, and bowling.  Wilma was a member of the A.A.R.P..  She was retired from Civil Service where she was a clerk typist for Dental Detachment.

She was a loving wife, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Wilma is survived by her husband, John of Waynesville; one step-son, Dennis Fisher of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers, Phildean Moore of Manhattan, Kansas, and Merle Cragg of Dodge City, Kansas; one sister, Georgie Hockensmith of Junction City, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 25, 1986 at 10:00 a.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Wayne Bell officiating.

Music was provided by organist Dorothy Moore.

Escorts were: Earl Arnold, Jim Arnold, Champ Champion, Jim Dodds, Vaughn Emerson, and Jim Wiley.

Burial was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Aniela (Jakimiec) Gottfried 1905-1986

Aniela Gottfried, daughter of Jan Jakimiec and Cieliczka Josef Jakimiec was born May 15, 1905 and passed away July 24, 1986.  She was preceded in death by her husband, and both her parents.

A Rosary service was held at Colonial Funeral Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on July 25, 1986.

Funeral Mass as held at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Richland, Missouri July 26, 1986 at 10:00 a.m. with Father John Pender and Rev. Robert Bixby officiating.

Interment was in the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Chapels, Inc.

Escorts for Mrs. Aniela Gottfried were: John McNeil, Everett Bedinghaus, Frank Pemberton, Leonard Daugherty, Drury Henson, and Barney Clark.

Aniela was born in Poland, but had lived in Richland for many years.  She was a member of the St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Richland.  Aniela was a very kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by her relatives and friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing one son Ryszard of Richland, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Joan M. (Mackney) Protz 1941-1986

Joan M. Protz, 45, of Lerna, died at 1:05 a.m. Monday (June 16, 1986) in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Howard officiating.  Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.  Eastern Star memorial services will be held 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral. 

She was born April 27, 1941 in Pulaski County, Missouri, a daughter of Clarence Everett and Bertha Fern Woody Mackney.  She married John Frederick Protz in Crocker, Missouri, June 29, 1968.  He survives.

Also surviving are a son, Kelly Lee at home; a daughter, Jennifer Joan, at home; her parents of Richland, Missouri; three brothers, Leonard E. Mackney of Saudi Arabia, Clarence E. Mackney of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Everett of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; and one sister, Mrs. Fred (Mary) Posten of Richland, Missouri.

She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Charleston, a member and past conductress of the Aleah Chapter 389, OES in Lerna; Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Medinah Shrine 98, Taylorville; and was a past member of the Illinois Board of Realtors Association.

She had lived in Mattoon since 1968.
