Frank Junior Miner 1908-1981

Frank Junior Miner was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 11, 1908 the son of Frank and Daisy Shinkles Miner and passed away in the St. Johns Hospital in Springfield on Thursday morning, January 15, 1981.  He had attained the age of 72 years.

He was united to Delphia Stokes on August 21, 1955.

He is a member of the Church of Christ in Dixon and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held in the Gilbert Chapel on Saturday, January 17, 1981 with Charlie Pitts officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Gilbert Funeral Home of Dixon.

Serving as pallbearers were James Cardin, Wilford Alexander, Don Crews, Jim Brown, Dale Waak and Roger Smith.

Mr. Miner is survived by his wife Delphia of the home; 2 sons Frank and Ralph Miner of Kansas City, Kansas; 5 daughters, Dorothy Miller, Becky Russell, Norma Aubin, and Doris Horine all of Kansas City, Kansas and Sue Ham of Dixon; 1 sister Mary Jane Pollock of Dixon with grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Delphia Irene (Stokes) Miner 1916-2010

Delphia Irene Miner, of Dixon, was born on June 23, 1916, in Maries County a daughter of Dora Lee and Clara Edna (Wilson) Stokes and departed this life at 11:20 a.m., Monday, June 14, 2010, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Mrs. Miner had been ill for the past few weeks and had attained the age of 93 years, 11 months and 21 days. Mrs. Miner was united in marriage to Frank J. Miner who preceded her in death on January 15, 1981. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, James, Floyd, Walt and Wayne Stokes. Mrs. Miner was baptized early in life and was a member of the Church of Christ, Dixon. She was a cook in her younger years for various restaurants in Dixon and later was employed by Brown Shoe Company, Dixon, retiring after thirty-one years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking and fishing. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Miner include: one daughter, Sue Ham, Dixon; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Marie Miller, Dale and Warren Rollins and Eula Doyel, all of Dixon; three grandchildren, Rob Baker and wife, Cindy, Sonya Ham and Gail Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Nichole Welschmeyer and husband, Michael, Robert Baker and wife Rachelle and Heather Baker; and one great-great granddaughter, Haleigh “Bug”; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Miner at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 17, 2010, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Bro. Rick Pitchford and Bro. Charles Pitts officiating. Mindy Sinden sang “Amazing Grace”, “Peace In The Valley” and “Almost Home” and was accompanied by Sherry Bradbury, pianist. Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Miner were Ed Wise, Bob Kozbil, Larry Doyel, Roger Smith, Danny Rollins and Mike Welschmeyer. memorials are suggested by the family to the Dixon Church of Christ with envelopes available at the office of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon.
