WAYNESVILLE- Services for Alice Marie Ward, 75, Waynesville, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Colonial Chapel in Lebanon with the Rev. Lonnie Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Waynesville Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Ward died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Breech Medical Center, Lebanon, of natural causes.

Surviving are three nephews, one of whom was her guardian, Lawrence Glaser, St. Charles.

Chester Charles Ward 1950-2002

Chester Charles Ward, son of Clarence Eugene Ward and Betty (Eaton) Ward Ablin, was born March 7, 1950 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and departed this life the afternoon of May 29, 2002 at the Springfield Skilled Care Center, at the age of 52 years.

C.C. grew up in Waynesville, where he attended Waynesville schools and the Church of Christ. For the last 35 years, C.C. has made his home in Springfield.

C.C. was dearly loved, and will be sadly missed by his mother: Betty Ablin of Springfield; one brother: Billy Ablin and his wife, Terry of Kirkwood; and two sisters: Sharis Myers and her husband, Ray of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Carla James and her husband, Gary of Lees Summit. He also leaves his nieces and nephews: Alex Ablin, Ben and Jen Myers and Nichole and Taylor James. Also surviving is one great nephew, Tomas; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding C.C. in death were his father, Clarence Eugene Ward and his stepfather, Leo Ablin.

A memorial service was held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Don Strong officiating. The family chose some of C.C.'s favorite songs to be played: "The Old Rugged Cross," "Sweet Hour of Prayer," "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," "Softly and Tenderly," "Standing on the Promises," "Just A Closer Walk With Thee," "I'll Remember You," "A Friend of Mine," "Unforgettable," and "Fire and Rain." On behalf of Carla, Mr. Strong read some memories she wanted to share. Sharis also addressed the congregation to share memories of C.C.

Burial followed in Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Mary Ann (Ward) Whitham Gan 1931-2007

Mary Ann Ward Whitham Gan, 76, of Richland, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Mo.

She was born May 7, 1931, in Madison, the daughter of Alfred and Anna Walker Ward.

She is survived by her husband, Chester Gan; one son, Gilbert Whitham of Richland, Mo.; four sisters, Alma Duncan, Doris Jones, Ella Sublett and Evelyn Lanham, all of Madison; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters.

The funeral was Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at Richland Memorial Chapel in Richland, Mo. Burial was in Buckhorn Cemetery.

Mary Louise Ward 1944-2009

Mary Louise Ward, daughter of the late Adolph H and Irene B. (Burmeister) Kramer, was born October 18, 1944 in Fairmont City, Martin County, Minnesota. Mary was a graduate of Trimont High School in Timont, Minnesota.

On May 23, 1964 in Trimont, Mary was united in marriage to George R. Ward, Jr. They shared many wonderful years of marriage together and were blessed with three children: Gail L., G. Robert and Mark D.

Mary became employed with the City of Waynesville as and administrative clerk after the family moved to the Waynesville area. She was employed there for many years and everyone who came to City Hall was greeted by her.

Mary’s pride and joy was her family. She treasured every time that she could spend with her family and friends, especially the grandchildren.

Mary passed away at 1:31 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 4 days.

Mary will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her three children: Gail Ward (David Todd) of Austin, Texas, G. Robert Ward III (Chrystie) of Tempe, Arizona and Mark Ward, Sr. (Amber) of Cuba; several grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother: Daryl Kramer (Jean) of Kenyon, Minnesota; several nieces, a nephew; aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 10, 2009 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. The song “What A Friend in Jesus” was played. Mary’s friend and co-worker, Carol Welch recalled her wonderful memories of Mary. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary Ward to the Waynesville City Park Fund and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory.

Mary Louise Ward 1944-2009

Mary Louise Ward, 64 of St. Robert, passed away at 1:31 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Memorial Chapel and Crematory, Waynesville/St. Robert.

Visitation is from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ward is survived by three children: Gail Ward (David Todd) of Austin, Texas, G.
