Walter George McDonald d. 8 August 1963

WAYNESVILLE- Walter George McDonald, 56, of Waynesville, died at his office in Waynesville Thursday after suffering a heart attack.

He was owner of the McDonald Concrete Block Company and the McDonald Cleaner and Laundry, both in Waynesville.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth McDonald, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Grove, St. Clair, Mich.; five brothers, George and Kenneth, both of Edmonton, Howie, Wallaceberg, Mich., Edward, Detroit, Mich., and Wilford, Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Waynesville Methodist Church with the Revs. Theodore Wolff and E.C. Horton officiating. Burial will be in the Waynesville Memorial Cemetery under direction of Moss-Williams.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Pulaski County Hospital Fund.

Nancy (McDonald) Hill 1830-1902

DIED.

Nancy Hill, beloved wife of V.B. Hill, departed this life on Thursday evening, January 9, 1902, at 10:30 of the clock. She had suffered for years from asthma and bronchitis, which finally caused her death.

Her maiden name was Nancy McDonald, born in St. Louis county, Mo., December 4, 1830. Her father, Jas. A. McDonald, afterward removed to Texas county and died there. She and V.B. Hill were married January 8, 1856, at the home of her brother, W.W. McDonald, in the town of Waynesville, Pulaski county, Mo., and she and her husband lived happily together forty-six years and one day.

There were born to them six children, four of whom died in infancy; only two surviving their mother, the oldest, Mrs. J.B. Harrison of Rolla, and the youngest, Mrs. W.H. Locker, of Waynesville.

She was a loving, faithful wife, and patient in her long suffering. She was a faithful member of the Baptist church at Waynesville, she was baptized in 1879 by Elder M.M. King, pastor of the Baptist church at that time. She is buried at the grave-yard on the farm just west of Waynesville.

We believe she died in Christ and that she will be raised up in the first resurrection. We are told the dead in Christ rise first; then we that are alive that are left shall together with them be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Earl Clayton Wilson 1930-2008

Earl Clayton Wilson, son of the late Earl Roderic and Alma Mae (McDonald) Wilson, was born February 25, 1930 in Pollock, Missouri where he grew up and attended school.

On April 4, 1946, Clayton was united in marriage to Alberta Flora Tyran in Salem, Arkansas. They shared over 51 years of marriage together and were blessed with four children: Danny Joe, Ronnie Lee, Sandra Jean and Sherry Marie. Flora preceded him in death on November 27, 1997.

Clayton worked for many years on a sales route for Rices Cleaners of Waynesville. In his spare time, he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, coonhounds, horses, and shooting matches. Most importantly, he treasured the times that he could spend with his family and friends.

Clayton was baptized June 17, 1998 at the Crocker Christian Church. He was a member of the church and attended every time he was able. He especially enjoyed the church chili cook-offs. He was also a member of the Coon Hound and Tree Association and the National Rifle Association.

Clayton went home to be with his Lord the morning of Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center of Rolla, Missouri at the age of 78 years, and 22 days.

Clayton will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by two sons: Ronnie Wilson of Lebanon, MO and Danny Wilson, of Big Piney, MO; one daughter: Sherry Foster of Waynesville, MO; two brothers: Wendell Wilson of Waynesville, MO and Lloyd Wilson of Ravana, MO; one sister: Carolyn Wilson; special friend: Odena Freeman of Waynesville, MO; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clayton was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Jean; three brothers: Ogle, Dewey and Larry Wilson; one sister: Virginia Ramey; and one great grandchild: Logan Thomas.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 20, 2008 in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Breeden officiating. The songs Ill Fly Away and Amazing Grace were played. Serving as escorts were John, Terry, Steve, Chris, Mark and Clayton Wilson. Serving as honorary escorts were Angela Cushing, Amy Helm, Shelly Wilson and Sue Ann Robinson.

Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Clayton Wilson and may be left at Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Donald McDonald d. March 7, 1985

Graveside services for Donald McDonald were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 1985 at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland, Missouri with Rev. John Pender officiating.

Mr. McDonald passed away at the St. Mary’s Health Center, St. Louis, Missouri after attaining the age of 68 years, four months and two days.

Mr. McDonald is survived by his mother, Mrs. Madge McDonald, La Crescenta, California; his wife Ethel, Richland; two sons, Donald, Jr., Columbia, Illinois; Ronald, Enid, Oklahoma; two sisters, Lucille Tissot, La Crescenta, California; Inez Linder, Sarasota, Florida, three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Burial was under the direction of the Colonial Funeral Chapel of Richland.

William Walton McDonald 1821-1896

This entry is from the J.J. Watts collection. John J. Watts hailed from Warren, Maine and moved to the northern Ozarks of Missouri sometime after the Civil War. He was a circuit-riding Baptist Minister and his territory covered Phelps, Pulaski, and Texas Counties and parts of Maries and Dent Counties. He established a cemetery, Watt’s Lawn, which is located 1 mile West of J Highway, near the Pulaski County-Phelps County line. This collection covers 1878-1912.

William Walton McDonald, was a son of James A. and Lucinda (Hawkins) McDonald, and was born in St. Louis County, MO, near Bridgeton, March 24, 1821 and died in Piney Township, Pulaski County, MO, Oct. 23, 1896, aged 75 ys, 6 ms, and 29 ds. A funeral discourse was preached at the Hopewell Church in Piney Township, May 30, 1897 by Rev. T. J. Zumwalt from 1st Thess. 4X14 assisted by Rev. J. J.
