Pauline Mitschele 1925-2012

Pauline Mitschele, of Crocker, was born on December 24, 1925, at Richland, a daughter of Harvey H. and Myrtle (Greenstreet) Mitschele, and departed this life at 2:15 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at her residence near Crocker. Pauline had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 86 years, 1 month and 8 days.

Pauline was preceded in death by her father in 1954; her mother in 1990; three brothers, Tommy Mitschele, Phillip Mitschele and John “J.O.” Mitschele; one sister, Marie Holdren; and a special brother-in-law, Bob Frazier.

Pauline was baptized on August 13, 1944 in the Dean’s Creek and was a lifetime member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church, Richland. She graduated from Stoutland High School and then moved to St. Louis where she went to work for Small Arm Ammunition. She later went to work for the St. Louis Co. National Bank as a teller and worked her way up to branch manager, retiring after 34 years of service, when she returned to Crocker and made her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Edith Frazier. Pauline enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, canning tomatoes, tending to her rose bushes and many outside flowers, quilting, embroidering and spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to mourn the passing of Pauline include: her sister, Edith Frazier, Crocker; special niece, Roberta Thornsberry, Crocker; two sisters-in-law, Doris Ann Mitschele, state of Texas and Pauline Mitschele, Richland; nephews; nieces; cousins and many friends.

 Funeral services were conducted for Pauline at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Rev. Shirley Williams, pastor of the First Christian Church, Eldon, officiating. “Precious Memories”, “Take My Hand Precious Lord”, “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain” were played for the service.

 Interment was in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Richland, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Pauline were Jack Holdren, Clinton Jerome, John Flynn, William Robert Holdren, Roy Gene Mitschele, Terry Lee Mitschele, James Alvey Mitschele and Alfred Zeigenbein. Honorary pallbearers were John Holdren, Joe Holdren, James Greenstreet, Dale Mischer, Estel Becker, Frank Richter, Paul Richter and Allen Mitschele.

Memorials are suggested by the family to the Elm Grove Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker.

Myrtle Alva (Greensteet) Mitschele 1894-1990

Myrtle Alva Greenstreet Mitschele was born on February 25, 1894, the daughter of Russ and Laura (Wilson) Greenstreet in Camden County, MO, and passed away on June 7, 1990. She had attained the age of 96 years.

She was united in marriage to Harvey Mitschele on February 28, 1912, and unto this union six children were born. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1954.

Myrtle accepted Christ as her savior in October, 1908, at the age of 14 years, and joined the Elm Grove Church, where she was the church's oldest member. She served her church for many years as a teacher and was faithful to attend as long as she was able. During her last years, reading was one of her greatest pleasures. Her Bible was always by her bedside.

She is survived by two daughters, Edith and her husband Bob Frazier, with whom she made her home, and Pauline Mitschele of Crocker; two sons, John and his wife Doris of Sherman, TX, and Phillip of Richland; 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Sallie Becker; and one sister-in-law, Myra Greenstreet of Richland, with a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Jessie Thornsberry and Marie Durham; two brothers, Dave Greenstreet and one brother in infancy; two children, Marie Holdren and Thomas Mitschele. She will be sadly missed by all.

Funeral services were held in the Elm Grove Baptist Church in Richland on Saturday, June 9, 1990, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Pryor Ray Prewett officiating. Burial was in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Serving as her pallbearers were William and Joe Holdren; Roy Gene, Lloyd Dean, James Alva and Terry Lee Mitschele. In lieu of flowers, please give to the Elm Grove Cemetery Association.

Stepheny Becker April 6, 1985-May 23, 1985

Graveside services for Stepheny Becker, infant daughter of Estil and Vicki Myers Becker of Route 1, Richland, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 1985 at the Elm Grove Cemetery with Rev. Freddy Blevins officiating.

She is survived by her parents, Estil and Vicki Becker, Richland; her maternal grandparents, Bill and Zetta Myers, Richland; and her paternal grandparents, Floyd and Eva Becker of Crocker.

Stepheny Becker was born April 6, 1985 and passed away May 23, 1985.

Burial was under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel of Richland.

Dave Greenstreet 1900-1985

Dave Greenstreet, son of John and Laura Wilson Greenstreet was born April 5, 1900 in Camden County and departed this life February 3, 1985 in Richland, Missouri, at the age of 85 years.

He was united in marriage with Myra DeBerry on February 27, 1929 and would have soon celebrated 56 years together. To this union was born one son James, who survives.

As a young man Dave professed his faith in Jesus Christ was baptized and became a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church, later moving his membership to the Eureka Baptist Church. In July 1955 he became an ordained deacon and for many years taught the Men’s Sunday School Class. He loved his church and remained an active and faithful member as long as his health permitted.

Dave has made the Tri-County area his home all of his life, except for five years which he spent in North Missouri. He was a board member of the ASCS in Laclede County for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife Myra, of the home; one son, James of Springfield, and his daughter-in-law Patsy; two sisters, Sally becker of Richland, and Myrtle Mitschele of Crocker; two grandchildren and one step-grandson; other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jessie Thornsberry and Marie Durham, and an infant brother.

Services were held Wednesday, February 6, 1985 1:30 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Pryor Ray Prewett and Rev. Doug Jacobson officiating.

Music was provided by Dwight Roam, soloist, and Marcia Shadel, organist.

Escorts were: Don Johnson, Milford Brackett, Francis Barnes, Johnny Ray Prewett, Ralph Ogle, and Wayne Thornsberry.

Honorary escorts were: Cecil Johnson, Everett Ogle, Chandis Appling, and Alvin Brackett.

Interment was in the Elm Grove Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Bertha B. (Ballenger) Perkins 1893-1982

Bertha B. Perkins, daughter of Benjamin and Rosa B. Ballenger, was born July 1, 1893 in Pulaski County and departed this life July 19, 1982 at the age of 89 years.

She was united in marriage to Charley Perkins in 1915 and to this union was born a son, John, who died in infancy.

Bertha attended Elm Grove Baptist Church for many years. She and her husband lived in the Richland area all their life and in 1958 moved from the farm outside Richland into town.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 22, 1982 at 10:00 a.m. at the Colonial Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Colonial Funeral Chapels.

Pallbearers were Randall Pemberton, Alfred Zeigenbein, , Walter Holloway, Danny Zeigenbein, Greg Zeigenbein, Gerald Marso.

Honorary pallbearers were Delbert Holloway, Clyde Eakens, Aubrey Oliver, Alfie Powers.

She leaves three nieces, Ruth Carroll of Richland; Minnie Remley of Reno, Nevada, Lois Ryan, Anaheim, California; two nephews, John Perkins of Anaheim, California and Everett Perkins of Whittier, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charley, who passed away May 30, 1975 and an infant son, John.

Shirley Becker Dye 1947-1984

Shirley Becker Dye, daughter of Otto and Sallie Greenstreet Becker, was born in Pulaski County on May 28, 1947, and departed this life November 29, 1984 in Springfield, Missouri after a lengthy illness.

Shirley graduated from Crocker High School and then attended Southwest Baptist College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. After graduation she taught music one year in Weaubleau, Missouri, she taught Kindergarten and second grade for eight years at Richland Elementary School and four years in the Waynesville School System.

Shirley made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ when she was nine years old, was baptized and became a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church. Later she moved her membership to the First Baptist Church of Richland before moving to the Swedeborg Baptist Church where she remained a member until her death.

She is survived by her son Adam; her loving mother, Sallie Becker of Richland; one sister, Betty Claiborn of Kansas City, Kansas; five brothers: John and Donald Becker of Crocker, Floyd and Glenn Becker of Richland, and Russell Becker of Kansas City, Kansas; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Otto.

Shirley was a very dynamic person, she loved life and loved people and gave of herself freely to help others. She faced her illness with much strength and courage and leaves a legacy to those left behind of her constant faith and trust in her Saviour.

Services were held Sunday, December 2, 1984, 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Ministers Pryor Ray Prewett and Doug Jacobson officiating.

Music was provided by Rusty Shadel, soloist, and Sharon Gundram, organist.

Escorts were: Henry Becker, Gary Becker, Ricky Claiborn, Robert Lynn Becker, John L. Becker, and Scott Jacobson.

Burial was in the Elm Grove Cemetery under direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Leesville man dies in high speed crash

Leesville, LA (KSLA) - Earlier today, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Leesville.

Troopers responded to the crash around 10:20 am, which occurred on Nona Street near the Fairgrounds.

The crash involved a 2005 Toyota pickup, driven by 69-year-old Logan M. York.

The Chevrolet was east bound on Nona Street at a high rate of speed when York lost control and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with several trees.

York was transported to Byrd Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. He was not wearing his seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation. Routine toxicology tests are pending.

Logan York, 69 of Leesville, LA, a retired U.S. Navy Petty Officer First Class, and Vietnam War veteran, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 3, 2009 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Leesville, LA.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 9 at Elm Grove Cemetery, under direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Richland.

Visitation is from Noon until 1:30 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. York is survived by four children: Jarell York, Sr. of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Garell York, Sr. of Cypremort Point, Louisiana, Lisa York of Springfield, Missouri, Kristie York of Kaplan, Louisiana; three step children: Regina Trahan of Abbeville, Louisiana and Ozan Gaspard and Tiffany Gaspard both of Kaplan, Louisiana; three sisters: Eva Becker, Verba LePage and Betty Winfrey (Clyde) all of Richland; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Elm Grove Cemetery is located in Camden County, MO., north of Richland, Missouri. Highway 7 to Highway A to Elm Grove Road.

Elm Grove Cemetery is a church cemetery that was established circa 1840. The original cemetery land was donated by Nancy Glover and addition land was donated by the Robert Lambeth family in 2002. There is a very visible division between the "old" cemetery and the "new" cemetery, although the newer cemetery has many older stones.

Dorothy Izora (Hobart) Morrow 1900-1984

Dorothy Izora Morrow, daughter of Frank and Laura Kinsheloe Hobart, was born on June 4, 1900 in Kincaid, Kansas, and departed this life July 18, 1984 in Richland, Missouri at the Tri-County Nursing Home at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 14 days.

She was united in marriage to Floyd Zilliox and to this union was born three sons, Lloyd, Kennith and Lawrence all who survive.

In 1923, she was united in marriage to Joseph Kenneth Morrow, Sr., and to this union was born four sons and one daughter.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Linden, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Joseph K. Morrow, Jr.

Dorothy is survived by six sons, Lawrence Zilliox of New Jersey, Lloyd Zilliox of Florida, Kennith Zilliox of Kansas, Raymond Morrow of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Richard Morrow of Wilseyville, California, and Jerald Morrow of Richland, Missouri, and one daughter, Shirley Shelton of Richland, Missouri, eighteen grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Services for Dorothy I. Morrow were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 1984 at Colonial Funeral Chapel. Officiating at the services was Pryor ray Prewett. Music was provided by Rusty Shadel, Soloist; and Marcia Shadel, Organist. Burial was in the Elm Grove Cemetery.
