She was united in marriage to Harvey Mitschele on February 28, 1912, and unto this union six children were born. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1954.
Myrtle accepted Christ as her savior in October, 1908, at the age of 14 years, and joined the Elm Grove Church, where she was the church's oldest member. She served her church for many years as a teacher and was faithful to attend as long as she was able. During her last years, reading was one of her greatest pleasures. Her Bible was always by her bedside.
She is survived by two daughters, Edith and her husband Bob Frazier, with whom she made her home, and Pauline Mitschele of Crocker; two sons, John and his wife Doris of Sherman, TX, and Phillip of Richland; 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Sallie Becker; and one sister-in-law, Myra Greenstreet of Richland, with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Jessie Thornsberry and Marie Durham; two brothers, Dave Greenstreet and one brother in infancy; two children, Marie Holdren and Thomas Mitschele. She will be sadly missed by all.
Funeral services were held in the Elm Grove Baptist Church in Richland on Saturday, June 9, 1990, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Pryor Ray Prewett officiating. Burial was in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Serving as her pallbearers were William and Joe Holdren; Roy Gene, Lloyd Dean, James Alva and Terry Lee Mitschele. In lieu of flowers, please give to the Elm Grove Cemetery Association.
