Mildred Elizabeth (Barfield) Roberson 1903-1986

Mildred Elizabeth Roberson was born in Kirkwood, Missouri on March 29, 1903, the daughter of Henry and Mary Elizabeth Shockley Barfield and passed away in the Sunset Village in St. Robert on Thursday, February 13, 1986.  She had attained the age of 82 years.

She was united in marriage to William M. Roberson on September 14, 1920 in Vienna and unto this union four sons and one daughter were born.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Vienna and attended as long as her health permitted.  She was a resident of the Sunset Med Center in St. Robert for the last several years and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services were held in the Church of Christ in Vienna on Saturday, February 15, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ted Sewell officiating.  Burial was in the Vienna Cemetery under the direction of the Long Funeral Home of Vienna.

Serving as her pallbearers were her grandsons, John, Jack, Robbie and Jim Roberson, Don Copeland and Wayne Howery.

She is survived by her two sons, Harold Roberson of Waynesville and Charles W. Roberson; one daughter, Louise Barnett Howery of St. Robert; three sisters, Dassa Eads of Kansas City, Gracial Walsworth of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Blanche Sheronick of Walbridge, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with other relatives.

Thomas Henry Roberson d. August 8, 1982

Thomas Henry Roberson was born in Maries County, Missouri, the son of John Franklin and Viola Martin Roberson and passed away in his home in Dixon on Sunday morning, August 8, 1982. He had attained the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 15 days.

He was a member of the Arlington Lodge No. 346 A.F. & A.M. of Dixon and was a retired employee of the City of Dixon.

Funeral services were held in the Long Gilbert Chapel in Dixon on Tuesday, August 10, 1982 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Earl Jones officiating. Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of Long Gilbert Chapel of Dixon.

Serving as pallbearers were Masonic Brothers, Gene Burns, Paul Lindsay, Warden Russell, Bruce Richey, Don Helton, and Lloyd Evans. Masonic services were given on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. by Arlington Lodge of Dixon.

He is survived by his wife Chloe of the home in Dixon, two sons, John Roberson of Granite City, Illinois and Clay and daughter-in-law, Mary Roberson of New Boston, Texas, four grandchildren, Elaine Wilkinson, Geg, Jeff, and DeAnna Roberson, two great grandchildren, Tracy and Ryan Wilkinson, one aunt, Mrs. Mae Nelson of Granite City, Illinois with many cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ernest and one sister, Mary Burns.

Sam Roberson, Local Citizen, Succumbed From Heart Attack

Sam Roberson, who for a numbers of years, operated a service station in Waynesville, died Monday at his home, victim of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Roberson was a life-long resident of this community.

Funeral services for Sam Roberson, 52, who died, Monday at his home in Waynesville, were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Mt. Gibson Baptist Church near Waynesville, with the Rev. Ferrell Hutsell officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Hedges Funeral Home of Waynesville.

Mr. Roberson, a farmer, and a lifelong resident of Pulaski County, is survived by his wife, Lena; four sons, Leland (?) of St. Louis, Dale, Bobby, and Jerry, all of Waynesville; daughters, Mrs. Laura Flesch__ and Mrs. Mary Lea Flesch___, both of St. Louis; three brothers, Ralph, Los Angeles, _____of Alton, Illinois; and Roy of Waynesville; two sisters Mrs. ___la Davis, Alton, Illinois, and Hazel Higgs of Richland, and 15 grandchildren.
