Carol (Quinn) Bullock 1938-2009

Myrtice Carolyn Bullock went home to be with her Lord on June 30, 2009 in the University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 6 days. Carol was born December 24, 1938 in Douglas, Georgia. She was one of six children born to the union of the late Levi Return and Duelah (Hargroves) Quinn. Carol grew up and attended the local Pentecostal church as a youth and attended area Baptist churches as an adult. She went to elementary and secondary schools in Douglas, Georgia. She was united in marriage on January 22, 1955 to Clarence A. Smith. To this union four daughters were born: Glenda, Peggy, Patricia and Janice. Carol later married Donald E. Bullock on February 2, 1988 in Waynesville, Missouri. Donald preceded Carol in death on February 7, 1998. Carol spent many years as a housewife and mother. She devoted all of her time caring for her family. Carol also worked as a waitress and later retired with EDP at Fort Leonard Wood. Carol volunteered with many service groups: the American Legion Post 331 Ladies Auxiliary, the VFW Post 3168 Ladies Auxiliary and assisted Senior Citizens Centers in delivering Meals-on-Wheels. Carol enjoyed Reading, Bingo, fishing and had recently become a computer Internet enthusiast. She had a great love for all animals especially dogs and cats. She was also an avid collector of frogs. Carol will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her four daughters: Glenda Adams (Colie) of St. Robert, MO, Peggy Simoneaux (Bob) of Vienna, MO, Patricia Morrison (Ronald) of Laquey, MO, and Janice Casperson (Ricky) of Lebanon, MO; the children's father: Clarence A. Smith of Waynesville, MO; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald; three brothers: Clarence, Elmer and James Quin; two sisters: Juanita Bates and Iris Jones; a son-in-law: Richard Portlock. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in the Memorial Chapels of Waynesville/St. Robert with Rev. Karen Alden officiating. The song "Somewhere My Love" was played and Carol's granddaughter, Ashley Moreland sang "Just a Closer Walk With Thee". Serving as escorts were Bob Simoneaux, Mark Vess, Ronnie Morrison, Colie Adams, Jerry Dennison and Ben Portlock. Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carol Bullock to the St. James Humane Society or the American Diabetes Association and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory.
