Camper, 9, Is Drowned

Waynesville Boy Dies in Gasconade

RICHLAND (Special) - A 9-year-old Waynesville boy drowned late yesterday while swimming in the Gasconade River near here.

Jackie Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson, was attending the Pulaski County Baptist Church camp here.

Funeral services for the youth will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the West Side Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Waynesville Memorial Cemetery under direction of Moss-Williams.

A spokesman said the youngsters were swimming about 5:30 p.m. and all were accounted for but that Jackie was discovered missing in another check a few minutes later. His body was recovered from the river a short time later.

In addition to the parents, he is survived by two brothers, Dennie Carl and David Morris, and one sister, Lisa Ann, all of the home; the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mae Anderson, Springfield; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Delong, of Devils Elbow; a great-grandmother, Mrs. Carl Anderson, Waynesville; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Watson.
