WAYNESVILLE- Funeral services for George Alonzo Campbell, Waynesville, who died here Friday at the home of a nephew, William Hensley, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Hartville Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Friend officiating. Burial will be in the Steel Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Bergman-Miller-Bledsoe of Hartville.

Survivors include two brothers, R.A., Springfield, and Charles, state of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Riley Paul Campbell 1909-1986

Riley Paul Campbell was born in Dixon, Mo., on Oct. 9, 1909 the son of James Riley and Sarah Adaline Davis Campbell and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Health Center in Rolla on Thursday, Sept. 11, 1986.  He had attained the age of 76 years.

He was united in marriage to Hazel McDowell on December 12, 1936 and unto this union 1 daughter and 3 sons were born.  She preceded him on Nov. 27, 1976.

Riley was a member of the Christian Church and a past deacon and elder.  He worked at Ft. Leonard Wood as a furniture repairman from March 26, 1951 until March 26, 1977.  He was a member of the Arlington Masonic Lodge No. 346 and was a past master and the Garnet Chapter No. 283 Order of the Eastern Star being a past patron several times.  He served in World War II as a cook, was an auctioneer clerk in this area for 45 years, was the President of the Dixon Khoury League for several years and worked with teams for 20 years.  He loved to hunt and fish and was a skilled wood craftsman and loved to make fiddles.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Chapel on Sunday, Sept. 14, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Harold Withers and Rev. Ed Hamilton officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery.  Organist was Carlene McMillian and serving as his pallbearers were Jim and Claude Campbell, Elroy McMillian, George Harsch, Randy Pendleton and Wilbur Warman.  Honorary pallbearers were Warden Russell, Everett Newberry, Bruce Richey, Paris Claiborn, Walter Dickens and Louie Hancock.  Masonic Services were held in the Long Chapel on Sat. evening at 7:30 p.m..

He is survived by his daughter Louise Juergens of Dixon, 3 sons, and daughters-in-law, Charles and Debby of DeSoto, Harold and Barbara and Greg and Helen of Dixon, 2 sisters, Grace Jennings of Dixon and Oma Wooster of Rolla, 1 brother Frank Campbell of Dixon, 8 grandchildren, Jason, Anthony, Bradley, and Andy Campbell, Joy, Pam, and Danny Juergens and Julie Pendleton and 4 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Curtis, Kelly and Brandon Pendleton.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers, Joe and Archie and 1 son-in-law William Juergens.

Arley D. Campbell 1958-2011

Arley D. Campbell, age 53, was born in Kimball, NE on April 24, 1958 and was taken early from us on Sunday, July 10, 2011 in Waynesville, MO. Arley loved Disneyland and always had a beaming smile that would make the world seem brighter. His life's motto was Live, Laugh, and Love because he lived life to the fullest, laughed the loudest and loved with all that he had. Arley was a loving son, caring brother, devoted father and doting grandfather. He is leaving behind his beloved family; his father, James; his mother, Doris; his brother, Jim (Anna); his daughters, Amy and Megan (Joey); and his grandson, Zachary. He was greeted at Heaven's pearly gates by his son Matthew who preceded him in death. The celebration of life service will be held at Diamond Canyon Christen Church in Diamond Bar, CA on Saturday, August 13th at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in memory of Arley Campbell.

< PULASKI COUNTY, Mo -- Mystery still surrounds a hit and run in Pulaski County nearly a month after it happened. Fifty-three year old Arley Campbell was found dead under the Veteran's Bridge on Highway 28 two and a half days after he was run over.
The family is now pleading for any information that might help solve this case.
Arley Campbell traveled to the After Hours bar on Highway 28 on July 9. Security cameras caught him inside acting happy. He left the bar by himself and started walking down the highway heading north. After that no one knows what happened.
"I talked to him on the phone 5 or 6 times a day," Arley Campbell's mother Doris Campbell said, "every day."
On July 10, Doris son suddenly stopped answering.
"He laid there two and a half days before anyone found him," Doris explained.
Arley was found at the bottom of Veteran's Bridge on Highway 28 in Pulaski County. His daughters came into town from California to lay him to rest. They created a memorial on the side of the road with a message to the person responsible for their father's death. "You will be judged."

Frank Everett Campbell (1916-1990)

Frank Everett Campbell was born near Dixon on October 1, 1916, the son of James Riley and Sarah Adalin Davis Campbell and passed away in his home on July 2, 1990. He had attained the age of 73 years.

He was united in marriage to June Marso on April 29, 1940 and unto this union three daughters and one son were born. She preceded him in death February 21, 1987.

Frank is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws, Carol and Ken Carsor and Wanda and Harry Gray of Dixon, and Shirley and Jim Deckard of Warsaw; his son Tom and daughter-in-law Betty of Bend, Oregon; two sisters, Grace Jennings of Dixon and Oma Wooster of Rolla; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, Riley, Archie and Joe and one granddaughter Karen.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Christian Church. He served in W.W.II and was a past Commander and lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Dixon, worked as a carpenter in Dixon most of his adult life, was the caretaker of the Fox Crossing Crossing for many years.

Services were held in the Long Funeral Home in Dixon on Thursday, July 5, 1990 at 10:00 a.m. with Harold Withers officiating. Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery. Organist was Opal Sheppard and soloist was Hazel Schierbaum. Ft. Leonard Wood Military served as pallbearers and gave full military honors at the graveside services.

Thomas Ray York 1937-1988

Thomas Ray York, son of Thomas and Freda Campbell York, was born June 22, 1937 in Bloodland, Missouri, and departed this life February 7, 1988, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri at the age of 55 years, seven months and 16 days.

He was united in marriage with Charlotte Whittle on December 19, 1961 and has spent most of his life in this area.

He professed his faith in Jesus Christ as a young man. Later in life he surrendered to preach and serve his Lord faithfully for nearly 20 years. Although New Friendship Baptist Church was his home church, he has preached throughout Pulaski County and surrounding counties.

He and his son also owned and operated Yorks Auto Works for a number of years.

Funeral services were held from the Colonial Funeral Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb 9, 1988 with Lee Todd, Minister officiating. Burial was in Idumea Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Homes.

Pallbearers were Donald Wieners, Sr., Dale Shetler, Bill Smith, Darold Wierners, Jr., Kenneth Bragg and Richard Tingle.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte; one son Kenny York of Waynesville; his parents, Thomas and Freda York of Waynesville; one brother, Lawrence York of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Beverly Elliott of Waynesville; as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother and an infant sister.

Ronnie Lee Campbell February 14, 1984-December 17, 1984

Ronnie Lee Campbell was born February 14, 1984 at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville, Missouri and he departed this life December 17, 1984 at the University Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 10 months.

He is survived by his father, Roylee Isaac Francis and his mother, Cynthia Campbell, both of Waynesville, Missouri; one brother, Edward Campbell of the home; his maternal grandparents, Edward Campbell of Pueblo, Colorado and Dottie Hart of Lebanon, Missouri; his paternal grandparents, Emery Francis of Waynesville, Missouri and Goldie Whiting of Springfield, Missouri, and several other relatives. He will be greatly missed by them all.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 20, 1984 at 3:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Othal Hodson officiating. Interment was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Mrs Dovie Campbell, 85, of Casey died about 9:25pm Sunday in a Waynesville, Mo. hospital. She had been visiting a niece, Mrs Doris Vaught, in Dixon, Mo. for the past two months. She was born on September 6, 1884, near Casey and was married on November 6, 1912 to Lewis Campbell. Surviving are: the husband, Lewis: and one niece, Mrs Doris Vaught of Dixon, Mo. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 25 at 2:00pm in the Casey First Baptist Church with Rev Cecil Fuson of Centralia officiating. Burial was in the Casey Washington Street Cemetery.
