Riley Paul Campbell 1909-1986

Riley Paul Campbell was born in Dixon, Mo., on Oct. 9, 1909 the son of James Riley and Sarah Adaline Davis Campbell and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Health Center in Rolla on Thursday, Sept. 11, 1986.  He had attained the age of 76 years.

He was united in marriage to Hazel McDowell on December 12, 1936 and unto this union 1 daughter and 3 sons were born.  She preceded him on Nov. 27, 1976.

Riley was a member of the Christian Church and a past deacon and elder.  He worked at Ft. Leonard Wood as a furniture repairman from March 26, 1951 until March 26, 1977.  He was a member of the Arlington Masonic Lodge No. 346 and was a past master and the Garnet Chapter No. 283 Order of the Eastern Star being a past patron several times.  He served in World War II as a cook, was an auctioneer clerk in this area for 45 years, was the President of the Dixon Khoury League for several years and worked with teams for 20 years.  He loved to hunt and fish and was a skilled wood craftsman and loved to make fiddles.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Chapel on Sunday, Sept. 14, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Harold Withers and Rev. Ed Hamilton officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery.  Organist was Carlene McMillian and serving as his pallbearers were Jim and Claude Campbell, Elroy McMillian, George Harsch, Randy Pendleton and Wilbur Warman.  Honorary pallbearers were Warden Russell, Everett Newberry, Bruce Richey, Paris Claiborn, Walter Dickens and Louie Hancock.  Masonic Services were held in the Long Chapel on Sat. evening at 7:30 p.m..

He is survived by his daughter Louise Juergens of Dixon, 3 sons, and daughters-in-law, Charles and Debby of DeSoto, Harold and Barbara and Greg and Helen of Dixon, 2 sisters, Grace Jennings of Dixon and Oma Wooster of Rolla, 1 brother Frank Campbell of Dixon, 8 grandchildren, Jason, Anthony, Bradley, and Andy Campbell, Joy, Pam, and Danny Juergens and Julie Pendleton and 4 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Curtis, Kelly and Brandon Pendleton.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers, Joe and Archie and 1 son-in-law William Juergens.

Ernest Louis Davis 1968-1986

Ernest Louis Davis, of Route 3, Dixon, was born on April 13, 1968 at Waynesville, a son of Ernest Louis and Gayle Marie Crews Davis, and departed this life at 5:15 p.m., on Monday afternoon, June 16, 1986, at the Rolling Springs Lake which is located eight miles northwest of Dixon in rural Maries County.  Louis was pronounced dead at the scene by Maries County Coroner, David Martin, which ruled his death was due to accidental drowning since the victim had apparently stepped into a hole of water over his head, and he was a non-swimmer.  Louis had attained the age of 18 years, 2 months and 3 days.

Louis had attended the Santee Community Church near Dixon and would have been a senior this coming school year at the Dixon R-1 High School.

Those left to mourn the passing of Louis include: His parents, Ernest and Gayle Davis, of the home near Dixon; two brothers, George Davis and Danny Davis, both of the home; four sisters, Ann Cooper and Fran Raiford, both of Hammond, Indiana, and Paula Davis and Brenda Davis, both of the home; maternal grandparents, Leman and Dorothy Crews, Dixon; maternal great-grandfather, John Schaffner, St. Charles; and many other relatives and friends.

Fond memories of Louis will long be remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were conducted for Louis at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday afternoon, June 19, 1986, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with the Rev. Daniel Wessling, Pastor, Santee Community Church, officiating.  DeWayne Brown sang “Mansion Over The Hilltop” and “In The Sweet By and By” and was accompanied by his daughter, Natalie Brown.

Interment was in the Pisgah Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.  Pallbearers for Louis were Tracy Beam, Bryan Ramsey, Shane Eberle, Brad Wanns, Craig Sloan and Wally Warner.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ernest Louis Davis Memorial Fund with envelopes being available at the Dixon office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home.

Homer Calvin Davis 1910-1986

Homer Calvin Davis was born in Olatha, Kansas on June 19, 1910 the son of Richard and Luella Gobble Davis and passed away in his home on April 1, 1986. He had attained the age of 75 years.

He was united in marriage to Esther Frisbey and unto this union 2 sons and 2 daughters were born.

Homer is survived by his wife Esther of the home. 1 daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Joe Eyman of Dixon, 1 son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Davis of Kansas City, Kansas. 2 sisters, Verna Larson of Richmond, MO and Vera Bills of Clinton, Missouri. 16 grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents , 1 daughter Mary Lou Veria in 1979, 1 son Richard Lee Davis in 1982 and 3 sisters, Bess, Hazel and Dollie. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside services were held in the Foxcrossing Cemetery on Saturday, April 5, 1986 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Martin officiating, all under the direction of the Long Funeral Home of Dixon.

Esther Naomi (Frisbey) Davis 1914-1993

Esther Naomi Davis of Dixon was born in Kansas City, MO on March 19, 1914, the daughter of Ike and Mary Etta Atkins Frisbey and passed away suddenly on April 23 1993. She had attained the age of 79 years.

She was united in marriage to Homer Calvin Davis and unto this union two sons and two daughters were born. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1986.

Esther is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Joe Eyman of Dixon, her son Wesley Davis of Dixon; two sisters; Dorothy Sue Allin of Independence, MO and Bess Handley of Kansas City, MO: 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one son Richard in 1982; one daughter May Lou in 1979; one granddaughter Peggy in 1979; two brothers; Art and Sonnie and one sister Jane.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Home in Dixon on Monday, April 26, 1993 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Charles Moreland officiating. Burial was in the Fox Crossing Cemetery near Dixon.

Frederick Basil Davis 1954-2011

Frederick Basil Davis passed from this life the afternoon of May 6, 2011, at Lake Regional Medical Center, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of 56 years and 10 months.

Son of Richard H. Davis and Marjorie Merril (Newsom) Davis Vaughn, Fred was born July 6, 1954 in Shreveport, Louisiana. When Fred was a young boy, the family moved to Baton Rouge where he grew up and graduated from high school.

In 1971, Fred went to boot camp at Ft. Polk, Louisiana. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the Fourth Battalion, Company B.

On December 28, 1984 in Waynesville, Missouri, Fred was united in marriage with Georgia L. (Keeney). Fred and Georgia shared over 26 years of marriage and four children: Richard Paul, Richell Elizabeth, Melissa Jane and Tammie Jo.

Fred worked as a technician / installer for Cable America and later for Fidelity phone and cable company.

Fred was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his wife: Georgia of the home; parents: Marjorie and Tom Vaughn of Shreveport, LA; four children: Richard Paul Davis and Richell Elizabeth Davis, both of Houma, LA, Melissa Jane Leaman (Thomas W.) and Tammie Jo Clark (John A Shattuck), all of St. Robert, MO; one brother: Franky Thomas Despino, Sr. of Coushatta, LA; one sister: Stacey Jo Vaughn Durr (Donny) of Shreveport, LA; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Rose Smith, Kevin Thomas Leaman, Tiffany Balerio, Brittny Jazz Leaman, Dalton Frederick Click, Amanda Lynn Click and Scott Albert Mercier, Jr “Spike”; three great grandchildren: Michael Loman and Joseph Henry Smith, Sara Balerio and Madison Rose Smith (on the way); seven maternal aunts, several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his father: Richard H. Davis; a niece: Nicole Rachel Despino; a nephew: Col. Thomas Cable, Jr. and a maternal aunt: Myrtle Newsom Leuran.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert with Rev. Donny Durr officiating. Friend of the family, Kim Jones recalled her wonderful memories of Fred. The songs “Stand By Me”, “Stuck Like Glue” and “I Can Only Imagine” were played. Serving as escorts were Todd Doyle, Larry Tanner, Steve Wilkinson, Richard Strutton, Jimmy Vogt and Jeremy Loveall. Serving as honorary escorts were Earl Blivens, James Nicks and George Campbell.

Burial with military honors followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville. Military honors were provided by the Missouri Honors Team. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.

Harry W. Fox 1890-1981

Harry W. Fox was born October 12, 1890 to George B. and Emma Davis Fox in Iowa City, Iowa, and passed away at Waynesville Memorial Hospital January 1, 1981 at the age of 90 years, two months and 20 days.

Hal, as he was known by all that knew him, was born again September 22, 1946 when he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.  He was a member of the Center Point Baptist Church from the time it was organized in 1952, and taught the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class for many years up to last September, when failing health confined him to his home.

He was an employee of the Rock Island Railroad Company where he ran a steam ditcher for many years until his retirement.

He was married to Hilda Larson of Anamosa, Iowa in 1915.  Two daughters were born of this union, Ellen Rinard of Relands, California and Lillian Shelton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

In 1940 he married Hazel Ray Fox.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 3, 1981 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bill Tallant and Rev. J.W. Brewer officiating.

Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers were: Carl Peterson, Buster Sanders, Warren Tidquist, George Bacon, Sherman Adkison, and Floyd Ellzey.

He is survived ny his wife, one daughter, Lillian Shelton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, two step daughters, Mrs. Donald Smock of Waterloo, Iowa, Mrs. Claude Carrell of Dixon, Missouri, three grandsons, and one granddaughter as well as ten great grandchildren, one nephew, Harry D. Fox of Richland, three nieces, Mrs. Keith Howlett of Richland, Mrs. Lorraine Tunstill of Arkansas, Mrs. Bert Cherry of Texas and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister, three brothers, one daughter, and one grandson.

Elizabeth Sue (Rice) Hansen 1938-2004

Elizabeth Sue Hansen, daughter of the late Cecil and Lucylle (Davis) Rice, was born October 12, 1938 at Marshfield, Missouri.

As a young girl, Sue's family moved to Waynesville where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1956.

On June 23, 1957, Sue married Gary Lee Hansen in Waynesville. Sue and Gary shared one son, Cary. Gary preceded Sue in death on May 5, 2002.

Sue ran the license fee office in Waynesville for over 7 years. But for the majority of her working years, she helped run the family dry cleaning business, Rice's Cleaners. Sue was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hansen Chapter #22.

Sue departed this life the afternoon of December 1, 2004, in St. John's Regional Medical Center, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 66 years, 1 month and 20 days.

Sue was dearly loved, and will be sadly missed by her son: Cary Lee Hansen and his wife, Donna of Waynesville; one sister: Patsy Woodman of Springfield; one brother: Paul Rice and his wife, Janice of Waynesville; her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 4, 2004 in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang "Beyond the Sunset" and 'You'll Never Walk Alone". Serving as escorts were Jeffrey Huffman, Steven Huffman, Ed Kubisiak, Gary Kubisiak, Brad Rice and Robert Rice.

Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Sylvia Lucylle (Davis) Rice 1917-1994

WAYNESVILLE- Sylvia Lucylle Rice, Waynesville, daughter of Harry Guy Davis and Nora Lee (Mackey) Davis, was born March 6, 1917, in Marshfield, Mo.

Lucylle grew up in Marshfield and graduated from high school there. Lucylle accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville.

On March 15, 1934 she was united in marriage with Cecil Paul Rice in Niangua, Mo. Cecil and Lucylle shared nearly 60 years of marriage and one son, Paul, and two daughters, Patsy and Sue, together.

In 1950, Lucylle and Cecil established Rice's Laundry and Cleaners. Lucylle was active in their family business until her retirement in 1979. She was a charter member of the Pulaski County Historical Society and a lifetime member of the Old Stagecoach Stop Foundation. Her interest of history and genealogy resulted in the publication of three books of Rice-Davis history.

Lucylle departed this life the morning of Jan. 3, 1994 in Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, at the age of 76. Her love for family and cooking made every holiday a special event for her loving family and friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Cecil; her son and daughter-in-law, Paul G. and Janice Rice; her daughter, Patsy L. Woodman and her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Gary Hansen, all of Waynesville; two brothers, Herschel Davis, Marshfield, and Eugene Davis, Columbia; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Mary Rice, Robert Rice, Roy and Teresa (Rice) Roberts, Edmund and Jackie Kubisiak, Gary and Janet Kubisiak, Cary Hansen and Dana Deardorff; eight great-grandchildren, Rachel and Tara Roberts, Christina and Daniel Kubisiak. Jeffrey, Steven, and Laura Huffman, and Andy Smith; special friends Elfriede Linane, Lila Rice and Barbara Riley; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Nora Davis; a sister, Mrs. Inez Ventling; and a brother, Alvin Davis.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Waynesville Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral chapel.

John Anthony Rogers 1985-2004

John Anthony Rogers, son of Wheeler Cockrell and Debra L. (Davis) Storey, was born November 20, 1985 in the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville, Missouri. As a young boy, John accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized.

John was a senior at Waynesville High School. He was enjoying his senior year in school and anxiously looking towards his future. John was a member of the WHS football team and was involved in the Junior ROTC program. He enlisted in the United States Army just a few months ago. John was en route to fulfill his guard duty obligation at the time of his accident.

While in his spare time, John enjoyed working on his truck and helping his stepfather work on his 1965 Chevy. He enjoyed listening to music and also liked spending time with his favorite dog, Sundance.

John departed this life the morning of Sunday, February 8, 2004 at the age of 18 years, 2 months and 18 days in Osage County due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

John will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his mother and her companion: Debra Storey and George Valentin of Waynesville; his father: Wheeler Cockrell of Whitehall, Arkansas; one brother: James W. Bull and his wife Misty of Dixon; one step-sister: Mary O'Lizbeth Valentin of the home; two nephews: Justin and Ethan Bull of Dixon; his girlfriend: Kim Sawyer of St. Robert and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister: Stacey Lynn Bull and maternal grandparents: Doris McGehee and Marion Davis.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 11, 2004 in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Danny Graves and John Starzinski officiating. The songs "Missing You", "Angel", and "Freebird" were played. Serving as escorts were the United States Army from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Burial with military honors followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery. Military honors were provided by the United States Army, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Infants Seth Andrew & Charles Duncan Davis 1 April, 2012

The stillbirths of Seth Andrew Davis transpired at 6:17 p.m. and Charles Duncan Davis transpired at 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 1, 2012, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.

Those left to mourn the passing of Seth and Charles include: their parents, Levi Davis, Crocker and Lucy Rector, Dixon; their half sister, Bella Lynn Davis, Crocker; paternal grandparents, William Leonard and Tammy Davis, Crocker; maternal grandfather, Larry Rector, Dixon; paternal great-grandparents, Clarence and Rita Sinclair, Buckhorn; Maternal great-grandmother, Tiney Lutz, Dixon; numerous uncles; aunts and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted for Seth and Charles at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Pastor Doug Jacobson, Eureka Baptist Church, Richland, officiating.

Seth and Charles were preceded in death by their maternal grandmother Leah-Jo Rector on November 15, 2010.

Private graveside services under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon were conducted for Seth and Charles in the Pisgah Cemetery, near Dixon.

Frank Everett Campbell (1916-1990)

Frank Everett Campbell was born near Dixon on October 1, 1916, the son of James Riley and Sarah Adalin Davis Campbell and passed away in his home on July 2, 1990. He had attained the age of 73 years.

He was united in marriage to June Marso on April 29, 1940 and unto this union three daughters and one son were born. She preceded him in death February 21, 1987.

Frank is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws, Carol and Ken Carsor and Wanda and Harry Gray of Dixon, and Shirley and Jim Deckard of Warsaw; his son Tom and daughter-in-law Betty of Bend, Oregon; two sisters, Grace Jennings of Dixon and Oma Wooster of Rolla; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, Riley, Archie and Joe and one granddaughter Karen.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Christian Church. He served in W.W.II and was a past Commander and lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Dixon, worked as a carpenter in Dixon most of his adult life, was the caretaker of the Fox Crossing Crossing for many years.

Services were held in the Long Funeral Home in Dixon on Thursday, July 5, 1990 at 10:00 a.m. with Harold Withers officiating. Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery. Organist was Opal Sheppard and soloist was Hazel Schierbaum. Ft. Leonard Wood Military served as pallbearers and gave full military honors at the graveside services.

Oscar Monroe Davis 1893-1990

Oscar Monroe Davis, son of John William and Rebecca Hicks Davis, was born August 26, 1893, in Hannah, MO, and departed this life May 21, 1990, in Richland, MO, at the age of 96 years, 8 months and 25 days.

He was united in marriage with Lucinda Dell Pagett and to this union were born nine children.

In 1955, he was united in marriage with Cora Belle Richardson.

At an early age, Oscar professed his faith in Christ and at the time of his death was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He had been a member of the Richland Masonic Lodge #385 since 1933.

He is survived by his wife Cora Belle, of Bentonville AR; four sons, Roy Ray Davis, Rogers, AR, Howard Davis, Collinsville, OK, William Dale Davis, Los Angeles, CA, and Donald Davis, Morriston, FL; three daughters, Peggy Shefield, Concord, CA, Marie Lenz, Pittsburg, CA, and Lena Mae Chaney, Arlington, TX; one brother, Clarence Davis, Versailles, MO; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, T. H. Davis; one daughter, Sylvia Florence Davis; and one sister.

Karen Sue (Davis) Starr 1942-2010

Karen Sue Starr, of Crocker, was born on July 8, 1942, in Hancock a daughter of Clark Thomas “Bud” and Minnie Effie (Malone) Davis and departed this life at 12:13 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2010, in the St. John’s Regional Health Center, Springfield. Mrs. Starr had attained the age of 67 years, 6 months and 17 days.
 
Mrs. Starr was united in marriage on July 17, 1982 to John Kenneth Starr who preceded her in death on December 4, 1999. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Victor Johnson in December 1970.
 
Mrs. Starr was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She enjoyed fishing, being outside and with her family.
 
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Starr include: two sons, Raymond Starr, Lebanon and Helmut Starr, St. Louis; one daughter, Jamie Starr, Waynesville; two brothers, C.T. Davis, Jr., Dunlap, Illinois and Steve Davis, Jefferson City; one stepbrother, Glenn Schmidt, Waynesville; two sisters, Doris Jean Sarvis, state of Mississippi and Vickie Fletcher, Minocqua, Wisconsin; two stepsisters, Teresa Thorne, state of Oklahoma and Dorla Claypole, Versailles; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
 
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Starr at 12 Noon, Saturday, January 30, 2010, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Rev. Steve Davis, pastor of God’s House, Jefferson City, officiating. Ray Campbell sung “He Will” and “Amazing Grace” for the service and was accompanied by guitarist, Jim Williams.
 
Interment will be held at a later date in the Seaton Cemetery, near Dixon.
 
All arrangements were under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon.
 

Neva Marie (Ramsey) Hayes 1903-1982

Neva Marie Hayes, of Hayden Route, Dixon was born on October 17, 1903, in the Spring Creek community of Maries County, a daughter of Glen and Anna Pearl Davis Ramsey, and departed this life at 5:10 p.m., on Friday evening, November 12, 1982, at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hayes had attained the age of 79 years and 25 days.

Mrs. Hayes was united in marriage July 5, 1920, at Lebanon, to Homer Eugene Hayes, and of this union, five children were born. Mr. Hayes preceded his wife in death on March 22, 1961. Mrs. Hayes was also preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Bullock.

A homemaker for all her working life, Mrs. Hayes became a member of the Methodist Church when a young girl.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Hayes at 2:00 p.m., on Monday afternoon, November 15, 1982, at the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Bro. Charles L. Pitts, Church of Christ, Dixon officiating. Mrs. Hazel Schierbaum sang “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Amazing Grace”, and “In The garden” for the funeral service and was accompanied by Mrs. Carmen Hauck.

Interment was in the Kenner Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Active pallbearers for Mrs. Hayes were Donald Robertson, Hursel Hayes, Randal Hayes, Darrell Hayes, Tom Williams, and J.D. Fritchey. Honorary pallbearers were Rocky Hayes, Michael Hayes, Brad Hayes, Robby Roberson, Trevor Hayes, Jim Williams, and Del Ennis Richards.

Vernie Raymond Pruett 1910-1984

Vernie Raymond Pruett was born a son of Alva Pruett and Emma (Davis) Pruett on March 31, 1910, in Pulaski County, Missouri, and he departed this life on September 21, 1984 at the Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri in his 74th year.

He united in marriage to Jewell Crisman May 8, 1927, and they enjoyed 57 years together and to this union one son was born, Harold Pruett.

He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. He was a long time resident of Pulaski County, where he was a farmer and stockman all of his working years.

He survived by his wife Jewell of the home; three grandsons: John Pruett of Springfield, Missouri, Robert Pruett of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Chip Pruett of the state of New York; one granddaughter: Susan Mentola of the state of Florida; three great grandchildren: Jason and Angela Mentola and Laurie Pruett; one brother Virgil Pruett of Licking; and one half sister: Dorothy Coldiron of West Plains, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his only son Leland Harold Pruett on March 30, 1979.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 23, 1984, 2:30 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Norman Sanders officiating.

Interment was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Pianist was Pauline Laughlin and soloist was Janell Walters.

Those serving as escorts were: Bill Pruett, Clarence Crismon, Mike Terrio, Jim Parks, Vince Parks, and Lenny Parks.

Honorary escorts were: George Lane, Lawrence Weatherly and Clyde Wheeler.

Warrant Officer Michael Ray Harlamert (1948-1968)

Services Held For Youth Killed in Vietnam Aug. 20

The body of Warrant Officer Michael Harlamert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fatley, of Route 1, Dixon, was returned here for services and burial this week.

Warrant Officer Harlamert was killed Aug. 20 in Vietnam when he was serving as a helicopter pilot. He was a graduate of the Waynesville High School and well known in this area.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Larry B. of Fort Walters, Texas, and Kenneth of the home, a sister Sharon, also of the home; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Harlamert of Hartville; and maternal grandfather, Noah Davis also of Hartville.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday at the Moss-Williams Chapel in Waynesville and funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Hartville with burial in the Steele Memorial Cemetery at Hartville with full military rites.
