Clarence Allen Parker 1921-1986

Clarence Allen Parker was born in Cuba, Missouri on March 18, 1921, the son of Benjamin and Lenner Ann Dodd Parker and passed away suddenly on January 3, 1986.  He had attained the age of 64 years.

He was united in marriage to Roste Fern Murry on December 30, 1941 and unto this union five sons and two daughters were born.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dixon and worked for the Gascosage Electric Company from 1954 until 1975 as a line foreman.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 6, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ed Hamilton officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long Funeral Home of Dixon.

Pallbearers were John Roberson, Jerry Milligan, Stan Hayes, David Manes, Jim Malone and Steve Hauck.

He is survived by his wife, Fern of the home; three sons and their wives, Bob and Susan Parker of Cleburne, Texas; Virgil and Janet Parker of Dixon; and Roy and Kyong Parker of Osan Air Base, Korea; two daughters and their husbands, Virginia and Larry Blanchard and Doris and Bill Howser of Dixon; nine grandchildren, Jenny, Benjamin, Megan, Brad, Steven, Tommy and Charlie Parker, Misty Blanchard and Whitney Howser; three sisters, Easter Miller and Elsie Ash of Sullivan, and Lillie Coffman of Salem; two brothers, Herman Parker of DeSoto and Claude Parker of Salem; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Lenner Parker, two brothers, Van and Willie Parker and two sons, Richard and Jimmy.

Pansye Oneida (Brown) Chapman 1925-2008

Pansye Oneida Chapman, the youngest of three daughters born to the union of the late Virgil B. and Cora (Logan) Brown, was born August 8, 1925 in Bloodland, Missouri where she grew up. She attended Bloodland School through the 8th grade where her mother taught. The family then moved to Turkey Ridge where she met John Thomas Dodd.

Pansye was united in marriage to J.T. Dodd by her uncle Judge M.D. (Dick) Brown in Waynesville, Missouri. Pansye and J.T. lived in Springfield, Illinois where he passed away on August 23, 1954. She then moved to Waynesville, Missouri to be near her family. Pansye later married Donald Francis Chapman on May 4, 1976 in Camdenton, Missouri. They shared over 22 years of marriage together before Donald preceded her in death in November 1998. Pansye was blessed with two daughters: Shirley and Tammy.

While in Springfield, Illinois, Pansye worked as a waitress. After moving back to the Waynesville, Missouri area, she began working as a cashier at the Waynesville IGA. Pansye lived in her home until her illness caused her to reside at Dixon Nursing & Rehab.

In her spare time, Pansye enjoyed being outdoors on perfect days while she cared for her roses. She was very talented with her hands and liked to do needlework, sewing and crocheting. Most importantly, she treasured the times that she could spend with her family and friends.

Pansye was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesville and later attended the First Christian Church of Waynesville until her health no longer permitted her to do so.

Pansye went home to be with her Lord at 12:45A.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in the Dixon Nursing and Rehab Center of Dixon, Missouri at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 10 days.

Pansye leaves to cherish her memory four children: Tammy Weber and her husband, Jay of Laquey, MO, Shirley Conley and her husband, Ed of Waynesville, MO, Ginger Haghi-Pour and her husband, Ali of Angleton, TX, and Jim Chapman and his wife, Billie of Cuba, MO; 11 grandchildren: Michelle, Christopher, Shana, Jacob, Heather, Roger, Shannon, Kim, Sarah, B.J. and Jilla; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Pansye was preceded in death by one grandson: Ed Conley, Jr. and two sisters: Gladys Wilson and Emma Collins.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, March 21, 2008 in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wilbur Harbaugh officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang "Serenaded By Angels" and "Amazing Grace". Serving as escorts were family and friends. Serving as honorary escorts were Edward Conley, Jr. and Christopher Brown.

Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Rites Held For Crocker Woman

Janie A. Dodd, daughter of J.H. and Tennessee Turpin, was born in Pulaski County, Missouri, on the old Turpin farm April 2, 1878, and departed this life at her home in Crocker, MO, February 26, 1940, at the age of 61 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

She was married to W.H. Carmack in the year 1894 and to this union seven children were born: Clella Mce of Crocker, Zilpha Tully of St. Louis; Leo Carmack of Kansas City; and Mabel Hunt of Dallas, Texas; three children having died in infancy.

They lived on her father's farm, now known as the old Turpin farm, which they later purchased and resided there until about the year 1911 when they moved to Crocker where she has since resided.

She was married to Allen A. Dodd in the year of 1923, he having preceded her in death three years ago.

She united with the Christian Church at about the age of 16 years and has since directed her efforts fathful and earnest in the cause of Christ in whom she was endowed with unlimited faith and reverence to the end.

She was a devoted and industrious wife; a mother of devotion snd courage' spending every effort in the care and welfare of her children, and throughout her long period of illness it was evidenced she died confident that her efforts in her family duties and devotion to Him, who has seen fit to take her away, had not been spent in vain. She lived by the Golden Rule-when charity demanded, opened her home to the homeless and openly expressed herself as being ready to go when called.

She leaves to mourn her passing in addition to the children now living, two brothers and one sister: T.H. Turpin of Wichita; J.E. Turpin of Crocker' and Stella Burchard of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Clarence Mace of Dallas, Texas; Norman and Earl Mace of Los Angeles, California; Leo and Eugene Mace of Springfield, Missouri; Genevieve Wesahaun, Doris, James, and Bobby Tully of St. Louis; Leo Roy, Loyd and Benny Carmack of Kansas City.

John Tice Ray 1885-1932

Tice Ray Succumbs to Tuberculosis, After Lingering Illness

May 11 1885- August 11, 1932

Tice Ray, age 45 years, passed away at his home on Gospel Ridge, Thursday, August 11, after an illness of 15 months.

He was born on Bear Ridge, Pulaski County, Missouri, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ray, deceased, and spent all of his life in this County.

When about 16 years of age he united with the Free Will Baptist Church.

He was united in marriage about 26 years ago, to Maude Hensley of the Antioch community, and to this union 7 children were born, 2 dying in infancy; and those surviving, besides the wife, are Mrs. Floyd Burrow, Jesse, Snowden, John, and Buddy.

He also leaves one brother, Mert Ray, two half-brothers, Everett and Milford, two half-sisters, Mrs. Bryan Lane and Mrs. J.E. Dodds, and other relatives and friends to mourn his decease.

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, at 5 o'clock, from the Gospel Ridge school house, east of here, by Rev. Chas. Roach, under the direction of J.L. Hoops and Sons, funeral directors, with Frank Christeson of this place in charge.

Interment was made in the Gospel Ridge cemetery.
